Finally Home! (Patreon)

Getting off of a plane is almost always a nice experience, because by the time I land all I can think about is getting out of the seat that stopped being comfortable after the first hour. This time, I enjoyed it for a completely different reason - feeling the warmth of the sun, breathing in the air... it was calming in a way that I don't normally associate with Florida. If nothing else, it was nice just to feel warm from head to toe again, without needing to wear 3+ layers of clothing.

Now that I'm back, I'd like to get some drawing out of the way, which still depends on me having some time with no interruptions, or even the expectation of being interrupted... Fortunately, starting on the 18th, I'll have the house to myself for about a week. I should plan ahead so I can make the most of it.

In the meantime, I'm also taking steps towards backing up my laserdiscs and some VHS tapes. Before I buy a Domesday Duplicator, it looks like first I'll need to modify my laserdisc player. But I don't want to do that blindly, so I'm waiting for verification that it won't fry the player. It's already hard to justify spending $500+ on a device to back up laserdiscs, but it'd be far more pointless if the player itself no longer works...
