On Mimi I've reached a point where I'm hyper-critical and asking myself if it really looks like her. Sculpting or at least blocking in her hair might help, but for now I think I just need to step back from it and work on something else, and come back to it with fresher eyes later. The goal at the moment is to practice, after all, and not worry so much about getting a finished, accurate model right out of the gate.

My first attempt at blocking in the G4 pony head didn't go so well. I'd completely ignored the fact that the drawings are based on very 2D designs that cheated to the camera. Strictly adhering to the drawings meant that the skull would end up with a sort of caveman-like brow.

For my second attempt, I blocked in the main volume of the head first, then created the eyelid curves and matched them to its surface. The eyeballs are about 75% the size of the skull, but they fit. Eyebrows might need to be done as hovering strokes, rather than being sculpted in.

For a third version, I made the eyes a bit smaller to maybe allow for sculpted brows.

G5 is also blocked in. Not much to say about that one, as the drawings are based on official 3D renders.

Peg is an interesting one. With every other character, I've struggled to figure out the size & placement of the eyes. With Peg, I knew the eyes needed to be non-spherical - about 1.5x as tall as they are wide. I was kinda surprised by how easily it all came together.

...now question is, do I start sculpting, or should I block in their bodies, first?
