One one hand I've been feeling a renewed sense of purpose lately, but on the other hand it's still me, and my to-do list only ever gets longer. While I've finally been exploring Zbrush after so many years of putting it off, comics are another thing I've been putting off for it, so I think it's time I moved the story along. Having a few days of plans getting interrupted also helps to trigger a mental reset.

Last week, my buddy booked a last-minute camping trip, for this past Sunday to Wednesday. He'd already planned on being in the area to visit his parents and do some canning, and it's a long enough drive that it made sense to make a trip of it. Regardless, he needed me to look after his dogs for that day.

Aside from the dogs, having a day to myself out in (manicured) nature could've been a great way for me to tune everything out and get some work done. Except, we forgot to unload all of the outdoor gear from his truck - chairs, the dogs' long leashes, etc. So I was stuck in the trailer with the dogs all day, and there's no spot in there that's comfortable or spacious enough to set up my laptop and sculpt.

I did have a spark of inspiration late a night, for a short comic where Rose gets home from work at the end of the day of Alice's visit. The comic had already been thumbnailed as one page, but now I think it would work better as two. And the kicker is that the one new panel that got me to take another look at it, may not even make it onto the page. It doesn't fit as well as I'd thought. But at least it got me motivated!

The second image is another single-pager that either happens before Alice's visit & Rose getting home, or the next day. It'd be a fairly simple one to draw, but it doesn't really move the story forward.
