Happy Sunday everyone!

I hope everyone had a great week, mine was pretty hectic with driving, "vacation", and spending time with family. Torre and I did take some beautiful polaroids at the beach so hopefully I'll have those up soon!

So I am new to Pittsburgh, I find it a very strange part of the country, haha. I am originally from the deep south, and moved to Richmond VA when I was a kid, which is a very southern place. I get totally weirded out by people who aren't polite or just don't have that endearing southern charm. I used to not be so freaked out by it, but I guess that's what getting older does to you. Haha. I want everywhere to be like the south. I miss Cook Out, Captain D's, and most of all Kroger. I don't know how these Pennsylvania mountain people live!

Anyways, I am still learning the city, and I really love the architecture, the night life, and the people I am warming up to (even though their obsession with sports is something I will never understand.) A few weeks Torre (who, if anyone doesn't know, is my partner), Bruno (who is a photographer from Philadelphia who was just visiting the other side the state for a few days) and I wandered a small part of the city. After partaking in a tiny, but awesome, vegan food festival, we talked photography. I loved listening to Bruno and Torre talk about technical aspects of film, but also which ones they loved the most. Torre let Bruno also shoot some film on his camera. It was pretty cute honestly, even though I am pretty sure I was forgotten about a few times in the middle of the bromance. Haha. I ain't mad.

I love shooting on film. I almost feel like the type of person and art I want to perform is perfect for this medium, especially polaroids. Something about the colors that reminds you of the ever talked about era of the 70's and 80's. It reminds me of seeing old photos of my parents kissing at a party, where polaroids, of all kinds, was the easiest way of taking a photo. Also, I feel like people really take advantage of hitting the shutter these days. Only having a 10 photos to work with in a roll is a challenge that I'm always willing to take.

So here's a day of shooting with Brunoroids. He even took a few of Torre and I together which I am extremely grateful for. It was super fun, and Bruno is an extremely enthusiastic and nice person.
