Scott

Hooray! Thanks to both of you (and Courtney too) for a fantastic watchthrough!

Jay_Jade

I would love to see you guys react to AMVs and fan videos, especially since Molly asked for a few last time!

Harry

FaultyFunctions

Y'all just get a dummy battery for the camera and plug it into the wall...

Recommended for watching: 1- Hiroyuki Sawano / Project【emU】 “Attack on Titan” suite This is a live performance by Hiroyuki Sawano who did the soundtracks for the 1st 3 seasons and rearranged some of them for season 4, he is the one playing piano, also you can see on the synthesizer, Kohta Yamamoto who did the new soundtracks of season 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6Fl1Xl1ogg&ab_channel=%E6%BE%A4%E9%87%8E%E5%BC%98%E4%B9%8B%2FSawanoHiroyuki%5BnZk%5D 2- Attack On Titan - The Final Episode [Behind the Scenes] Voice Actors rehearsing and recording the last episode in the studio, very emotional performances, specialy from the voice actress of Mikasa and the voice actress of Armin, Yes ! Armin voice was done by an actress ! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvV6IGDtecg&ab_channel=Lu 3- The OVAs 6, 7 and 8 You have already watched OVAs 1, 4 and 5 OVAs 2 and 3 are just fun episodes thAT can be ignored but OVAs 6, 7 and 8 are more serious specially OVA 8 which is very interesting and different and some how can be related and connected to the events of the Finale ! OVAs 6 and 7 are about Annie while OVA 8 is about Mikasa.

Jay_Jade

I think that last bit with Ymir was her reliving her life through Mikasa. Ymir saw so many similarities with her and regretted sacrifing herself for Fritz. So Mikasa killing Eren is her getting closure.

Alex Kaiser

Eren is right, he didn't have a choice because nobody chooses what they want. He was a slave to freedom, forced by his own will. Ultimately it was his decision, and this is what he wanted.

NissanZaxima

Eren was never free. That’s the point. He was a slave to it.

Justin

Fun facts about the ending, the song playing at the very end was sung by Eren and Mikasa’s Voice actors, and the bird that wrapped the scarf around Mikasa is called a Jaeger. It’s finally over! Sad to see it end. Great reactions can’t wait to see what comes next.

DanKnee

To me, the clip of the first king getting stabbed instead of Ymir was basically her admitting that she should have let him die. The same way that Mikasa killed Eren even though she loved him. And it’s why Ymir was waiting for someone like Mikasa. To do what she couldn’t.

Mr Forbes

Such a deep thinking, thought provoking show. so many layers. Was amazing to watch again with your reactions 🙌🏾 (this is like my 10th time watching) - can’t wait to see you finish Arcane and Eventually Edge runners 🎉

Man Lit

Levi crying at the end was great

Mesbah Mohamady

Thank you so much ! Lia, Molly and Courtney ! Thank you all for sharing this long beautiful journey with us ! Personally, I am here since you were watching DUB ! :D as a side note, switching to sub was the best decision you have made ! Loved your reactions, theories and discussions so much !

Man Lit

Also Mikasa married Jean.

YoNipplesSoft

Fun fact on Erens tombstone in the end Mikasa wrote “Here forever rest peacefully my most beloved my dear 854”

Harrison Alexander

Really enjoyed watching this with you all. I'm looking forward to Vinland Saga reactions in the near future.

Alan Bun

Good point. I think that her dream of her living alone with her kids is similar to Mikasa's dream of her and Eren living alone in the cabin.

MAXed out

I know Lia desperately wanted Eren to take another route in saving his friends but I hope you understand that this was never possible. If we take Erens motivations to be that he wanted to free Ymir and end the Curse of Titans and that he wanted to let his friends live long and happy lives without the fear of being fought or having to fight. We can assume that this was the ONLY resolution and all others Eren tried and tested but all to no avail. Anything else would have either been completely out of character or wouldn’t have achieved his ultimate objectives. He was ultimately a “slave to freedom” and a slave to the future he saw in that medal ceremony. That doesn’t make it “bad writing”, this is how it was always meant to be becuase ultimately Eren is “idiot who got his hands on power”. That’s why Eren sending the titan towards his mom makes complete sense especially if you remember the episode“Memories of the Future”. Eren’s been influencing the past through the Founding + Attack titans abilities to ultimately set events in stone to ultimately lead to the resolution you saw at the end. If Eren’s mom never got eaten, Eren would probably never have gotten the motivation to “kill all the titans” and set him down this path of hell.

Professor00

Awesome ride!! Now hopefully on to the actual vote winner. Vinland Saga😁🤘🏾

MJW

not trying to be rude but why is there camera life about 20 minutes then might need invest in a better one

Light Yagami

I’d recommend checking out the project emu suite

Kim555

I cried until I got a headache and this is like my 4th time at least watching the end again

Rudy

I get what Lias saying with eren just doing what he saw and not having the freedom of choice - But the point is he DID have the freedom to choose, but ultimately he is a slave to the choice of freedom. He is always going to save the pickpocket kid in the alleyway because thats deeply in his nature to do so, he tried to walk away and then ended up saving him anwyay. When he shows Mikasa the alternative reality where they ran away and left paradis's fate to chance - Its how things would have played out for Eren if he was an individual capable of letting go of his rage for the world and his misguided desire to "protect" the people he loved. Sadly by the end he finally realises hes a "garden variety idiot" Who just cant help being himself. In that moment, he realised he would never be able to physically do what it took to avoid the rumbling - because all of his actions would lead up to it, with or without the future visions.

Enchiladas

I commented this on the third part but the attack Titan can see the future and influence past inheritors, the founding titan can manipulate all eldians/titans via the paths where past, present and future exists at the same time. Combine those two powers and that's how Eren made the titan go after his mom instead of Bertholdt.

liareacts
>>157613076

That is partly what I was trying to say! I disagreed with Molly because I felt she was excusing Eren’s act of genocide due to fact he had no choice. Eren always had a choice and chose this path because that is what he thought he had to do/wanted to do. What is predetermined is that Eren would always make that choice because that is who he is as a person. So, I was just saying that I don’t excuse what Eren had done and definitely don’t see him as some tragic hero that had no choice but to kill 80% of the population. Such a great, complex character!

Hana

Ymir seeing that image of her holding her children instead of dying to save King Fritz was her way of setting herself free from the love she had for him. She found peace and it was Mikasa who showed her how to do that by killing her love to save humanity.

MAXed out
>>157613076

Yes, I think there was a misunderstanding with what was meant by “no choice”. Sure Eren had all the power to just not do the rumbling but any other scenario wouldn’t coincide with his character and his goals. In the end, Eren’s just himself, a garden variety idiot lol

Harry

From what I understood after this show the author want to portray the fact that the real reason for wars are us humans, even after the titans were gone what happened? the war rages again its an endless cycle because of human nature.

jojoey
>>157616714

It’s so sad how much we hate each other😭😭😭😭

Harry

Erwin said this in S3 ep 3 or 4 I think, Commander Pyxis asked Erwin when do you think humans will stop fighting and Erwins says maybe there is only 1 human left such a powerful line in my opinion

Harry
>>157616714

Never understood the reasoning behind it, the day people learn to forgive and be the bigger person only then I think we can achieve true peace..for example like Sasha's parents

Harry

them showing king fritz getting killed with the spear is basically Ymir becoming free of being the slave of the king. Ymir was seeking connection with mikasa as she saw herself in mikasa and wanted to see if she could do it (kill eren)

Toodwart

one last tatakae! thanks for this awesome reaction.

Blackfyre5490

Not sure if you noticed, but Armin has been the narrator throughout this series. The ending confirmed that this entire series was Armin telling the world this story.

Reggie Azem

So many things to say/ask but i'll keep it short and sweet! Thank you ladies for sharing something that is loved by Millions worldwide. I believe this Show is not only a masterpiece, not bc of cheap plot armor, repulsive fan service, convenient last minute hidden power ups, but because it's grounded in reality, able to breach all backgrounds, speaking directly to the viewers, allowing us to question our own morality / perceptions, reflecting on our everyday lives. A million Colossal thank yous! Lia your hilarious and spot on with your analysis ( esp post edit lia!) Molly is literally like the rest of us AoT fanatics, yes well all broke down and having the same visceral reactions or worse lol While Reading manga chapter 133, when Hange is on fire, for one panel, the fire on her back takes on the appearance of Wings, then shortly after heroically sacrifices herself. as i was flipping through the pages, i remember I was shaking and collapsed to the ground after she passed, the ugliest cry that came out of me, ever. Bc i grew up with this anime since I was 14 and waited 4 years for season 2 and so on... To me these made up characters had more of an impact/influence on me than real people ill never meet or know. I'm glad to be part of like minded individuals who are able to seek out humanity vs self enrichment at the cost of many or atleast, gain the ability to see “the other side of the sea.”

Anthony Granado

"Do you mean a field guide to horses" was a jab at Jean. Eren used to say he had a horse face. Jean said he was wanting to look good for the history books and the joke was that he would be in a field guid to horses not a history book. Also he probably was wanting to look good for Mikasa (who he was always in love with).

Tony Garcia

Mollys reactions were everything 😂 she funnily enough made all the right reactions to every moment 🙂‍↕️ the way Leah felt bad when Zeke died was probably my favorite moment/reaction from her 😂 I’m glad you both teared up so much lmao thank you both for this AOT ride 🙌🏽😊

Paul O'Kane

I just want to point out that erens gravestone at the end said.. Here forever, rest peacefully, my most beloved my dear... :'(

YoNipplesSoft
>>157624543

Actually isayama confirmed in a recent interview that he was trying to look good for the people reading or something like that I need to see again but not for Mikasa

Phong

Lia Reacts: Attack on Titan - The Final Season- Part 4 - Full Length Reaction (Part 4)

Goodman Grey

Amazing reaction y'all. The show is truly peak fiction. Fun fact the first part of the song that plays as Mikasa is sitting beneath the tree is actually Mikasa's and Eren's VA singing together.

EaterOfRice23
>>157616714

Not to be pessimistic, but I don't think such a day will come, at least not for everyone. The best we can do is create our own pockets of peace for those we love. Not that it's bad to try but so long as we all have free will and can think independently there will always be conflict.

Tyfighter

You should react to “project emu attack on titan suite” it’s the composer of the music preforming all the iconic themes

Jσԋ

Me encantó ver su reacción con este anime, entonces por ahora me de suscribo (unsubscribe) hasta saber que reaccionaran a jujutsu kaisen entonces volveré, bye

Eren
>>157613076

do you think attack on titan is the best show you ever seen? lol

Hairy Styles

For Lia to understand Eren, think of it like getting spoiled for a movie or something. Someone tells you how a movie ends before you see it, there’s obviously nothing you can do to change the movie, it will always end that way. However, that doesn’t mean you will necessarily understand the ending of the movie, but as it plays on you understand more and more. I think this is what it was like for Eren seeing the future.

Buggy99

Eren is a slave to his own nature Whether he saw the future or not, those were the choices he was always going to make, which is why he realizes in the end he did this all for selfish reasons and why he calls himself an idiot, and that he was the wrong person to inherent this power

chrislu71 .
>>157728339

Except it isnt a movie but more like a play you are currently acting in. Eren is a slave to freedom which means he will always make the choice that makes him or his loved ones more free. After a long list of making such choices it eventually resulted in the Rumbling.

chrislu71 .
>>157613076

yes I think most people agree that Eren chose the greater of two evils here and his actions were inexcusable but understandable at the same time. The only thing that might make it excusable is that it resulted in removing the power of the titans from the world. Hard for me to say it was worth the cost or not...

Petteri Rantala

What stood out to me most when I finished reading the manga, was how Eren admitted to Armin that he doesn't want to die. He was going to die before his loved ones no matter what, and he couldn't accept it. The thing is, if he hadn't got his loved ones to step up and finish this plan to eradicate all the Titan powers, his death would've been meaningless. So, I believe he genuinely thought he was fighting for something more important. But then he reflects at the end how he had been selfish and not in the right. From this perspective I can relate to his stubborness, and can see a life lesson for us all. But... as if something prevented him from self-correcting? Later on, I've come to think that Ymir created a monster in Eren, to test Mikasa, if she could do what Ymir couldn't. The monstrosity was King Fritz, and Eren was a re-enactment or re-incarnation, and a necessary evil to release tormented Ymir and the Titan powers off her. But what exactly happened to the Parasyte? That's what I'm still clueless of...

P.S. Thanks for the banger of a finale reaction! Well worth the wait and investment. It has been a long ride! I admit missing Courtney and remember fondly when 'editing Lia' used to provide the clever theories and narration. Keep up the good work (emotionally traumatizing poor/dear Molly) !

Cody

i think you should react to Attack on titan music suite

austie poo

aw man. I don't think you guys noticed Levi crying

Leandro

I wanna thank you Lia , Molly and Courtney for allowing me to re-watch the series again with your guys thoughts and perspective on it. It first just started off when I randomly saw a quick YouTube reel of your hilarious reactions to Reiner and Bertholt revealing who they were in the S2 episode "Warrior"😂 from there I ended up just deciding to see how you's reacted to every great moment in the show form start to finish. It was entertaining to watch 😁

trickybirb

A person's choices flow from their internal character and desires. Eren was a violent and aggressive person with a desire for freedom. That desire was horribly twisted by his character, and when you combine that with godlike power it results in genocide. The fact that Eren's actions are determined by who he was as a person means that Eren's actions were his own. That's what free will is and that's why Eren is responsible for the genocide that he committed. Eren realizes all of this and his true motivation after he has a memory of his father telling him, "Eren, you're free." That's when he tells Armin that he, "wanted to level everything. I wanted to see this sight." When Armin asks why Eren replies, "I don't know why. I just wanted to do it... so very badly. I thought I was doing everything to protect all of you. But Sasha and Hange died because of me. And I wound up putting you in lethal confrontations with Floch. Why... Why did it turn out this way? I finally know. It's because I'm an idiot. A garden variety idiot who got his hands on power. That's why this resolution was the only possible outcome." Armin then replies, "Wanting to erase people from the world? I've felt that way too." Notice that Eren at this point accepts that he did not choose the rumbling because he wanted to protect his friends or Paradis. He admits that he chose the rumbling because of who he is as, "a garden variety idiot" who always wanted to experience his twisted vision of freedom. And yet... his friends still love him. Probably for the same reason that we all deserve to be loved: we were born into this world.
