This might be a super hot take…but I loved that finale. It wasn’t grand, but it WAS personal. I think every character (minus Sage who got off WAY too easy) had a satisfying and fitting end to their stories. I’m gonna have to watch this a few more times before I call this one of the best tv finales I have seen, but as someone who had their favorite tv shows end in such a shitty way like Game of Thrones, the Walking Dead, Squid Game or anything from the Arrowverse, I was happy with what I got for The Boys. Antony Starr and Karl Urban need to get at least nominated for all sorts of awards for their performances in this show. Hell, all of the cast members in this show deserve at least one nomination for their performances. They all brought so much to all of their characters. I’m going to miss this show but I’m so glad it ended on a high note (again that’s probably gonna be a hot take) in my opinion. I’m honestly kinda tempted to check out Supernatural after seeing what Eric Kripke did with this show. 10/10 finale for me. 7.5/10 season for me. 9/10 show for me. Farewell to The Boys. 🫡🦸‍♂️👊🩸

This finale wasn’t bad but also wasn’t great imo, a large section of the season just felt a like a ramp to launch the spin off show rather than conclude the primary story in a satisfying way. Molly was spot on with the comment about the actors carrying the show, Anthony Starr in particular deserves so much praise for his performance as Homelander

This episode should've happened in the middle of the season so we could enjoy more than two minutes of Homelander being pathetic. They spent most of the season doing absolutely nothing and filling the runtime with moronic 12 year old humor. And apparently the writers didn't watch Gen V because season 2 built Marie up expressly to fight Homelander, but absolutely nothing came from it. Such a waste of my time. Can't writers just have some balls again and stop playing everything safe.

Very hot, very propagandized take. This season was 90% random meaningless talking, 8% dumbass 12 year old comedy bits, and 2% actual story. Ending a story by allowing only a few brief moments of consequences for everyone who deserved them was the dumbest thing they could've done. This season could've been non-stop plot, but most of the original writers got replaced and the new ones spent most of their effort writing meta jokes about how hard finales are to land and please everyone instead of focusing on continuity and coherent motivation. Soldier Boy was violently opposed to Nazism when he first entered the show, but all of a sudden the Nazi woman he casually mentioned banging was his one true love? It's just bad. And instead of letting us enjoy a full season of anything happening, they made the entire thing a fetch quest that spanned for too long and became embroiled in meaningless emotional conflicts between characters we don't know just to setup their endless spinoffs. And mixing two seasons of Gen V, a fantastic show with fantastic actors, into this universe where the latter was solely focused on leveling up Marie to control her powers and be able to take Homelander down? What was the purpose of that? Two seasons of badass character development and it meant absolutely nothing. The final conflict should've happened in the middle of the season, or at least a couple episodes before the "packed" finale so we could actually enjoy the fruits of our team's labors. 45 seconds of Homelander being pathetic and useless was not enough. A cheap, amateurly choreographed fight between Annie and the Deep before a low-budget squid penetrated him was not enough. The entire season was lackluster in a way their chopped budget and brand new writers can't explain.

I wasnt the biggest fan of the finale but they perfectly nailed how pathetic homelander is without his powers. Still wish we could’ve seen him crash out once; they teased it for years and in the promos

Just thought about it but it's pretty funny that we saw Homelander slice Kimiko in half with his lasers in the very first episode of this season but conveniently couldn't in this episode

I liked the finale considering how underwhelming this season was for a last season it was better than expected because I had low expectations. But for me even though it seemed rushed made me satisfied enough in some ways.

Spoiler alert if you haven't watched the episode yet* I thought the writers of this show ended it well. I agree it felt a bit rushed and I also expected a Homelander massacre crashout to make the final showdown more epic, but his pathetic pleading for his life and death was soooooo satisfying to watch. Overall I enjoyed this finale and I'm just glad they didn't ruin it like they did with GoT If I may make a suggestion on what show to watch after Invincible: Fallout TV series is something I think the three of you would enjoy. Its been highly rated and it's kinda similar to The Boys with its graffic gore action with plenty of comedy, but not too inappropriate humour. It would also take you girls back to your roots of TWD as the setting is based on a dystopian America. Many people doubted it thinking it was going to be like The Last of Us and divert too far from the video game its adapting from with woke BS, but Fallout writers have done such a good job and its exceeded everyones expectations. You don't even have to have played the Fallout games to know the history of the world as its all explained in detail

I'm so irritated about how rushed this all is. They could've let homelander take over the world like an evil Viltrumite destroying cities that don't believe in him and made The Boys follow him trying to kill him. Not even MARIE FUCKING MAROU, the character they built up as Homelander's equal did anything this season... I'M IRRITAAAAAAAATED. Why tf did they give her a power up in the latest Gen V???????? WHAT IS THIS WRITING

If you are looking for a surprisingly great show with unique and complexed characters, I highly recommend reacting to Interview with a vampire on amc. Its very underrated!
