Hi everyone!

We noticed an uptick in patrons so it seems like movie watch-alongs might be a fun thing we'll continue doing! Instead of Daniel and I picking out the movies every time, we thought we'd take suggestions from our patrons, too.

So, if you have something you want us to watch, leave it below~~~

BIg hugs,

It would be fun to do a classic like big trouble in little China or the mummy!

Alina the Goblina

If you want a campy fantasy film with Sean Connery voicing a dragon, my movie club just watched DragonHeart 😅 I also love Stardust, another underrated fantasy film gem, based on a Neil Gaiman book.

JonnyReads

Ready or Not, such a good film!

Dao N

RRR - cheesy movie with great depth and fun action

RawPanels

late night with the devil

Primer

Ezalea Graves

I think you should do more big name failures in the line of Rebel Moon

Josh

Scary movie!

Junnor

Dragon Ball: Evolution comes to mind.

Phil Parkman

The David Lynch Dune might be relevant again - there are some over the top moments in that one

kendra pearce

Campy horror movies! The slashening, thankskilling, Father’s Day.

James Walker

Sucker Punch, a cult favorite of mine and directed by Zack Snyder like Rebel Moon. "One more thing. If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

Daniel A

Palm Springs and Love and Monsters are both fun movies.

Matthew

It’s not sci-fi or fantasy, but Bullet Train (action film) is a funny wild movie that could be good for a commentary.

Tibs

If you have not both seen it, Neil Gaiman’s Stardust.

bryan

“Perfume A story of murder “- it has a genius, the making of perfumes, many ups and downs, a serial killer, great film technique and beautiful shots, the movie is a hidden gem

bryan

“Enter the void”- extremely psychedelic and philosophical movie, very weird, unique experience,

bryan

Waking life - Richard Linklater’s masterpiece of filmmaking made using a multitude of artist drawing over each scene in unique styles, its a composite of discussions all wrapped in a single story of our protagonist during a dream A must see film

Taren Larry

RRR - a Telugu action film with a Bollywood flair that we watched on Netflix after rave reviews from Brando Sando and Dan Wells.

Sam Doehart

"The Legend of Hei" - Xiaohei the spirit cat begins his wandering journey because his home is destroyed by humans. On a search for a new home, he encounters human allies as well as other spirits, some of whom share his dislike of humans. This leaves him with the dilemma of which side to choose. This is a really fun and beautifully animated Chinese Kung-Fu movie with some Avatar: The Last Airbender-style powers thrown in. It's a great movie!

Austin Clark

What’s up Doc? is like live action Looney Tunes and excellent slap stick humor with one of the best car chase scenes in movies

Voxed

Eragon 😂

Starship troopers

Holy Crip, He's a Crapple!

Being John Malkovich? idk, first one that came to mind, no idea why though lmao I haven't seen that one in AGES.

Stargate! Daniel you have to give it a try

Aemon al'Thor

Starship Troopers!!! Please, it is really fun with a bunch of satire and action, with a pretty good main story!!! 🙏

Evan Robinson

Jojo Rabbit. Would be fascinated to hear your commentary

farah karshe

Star trek wrath of khan and the three body problem adaptation seem like it would be fun.

puhtahtoe

The 2004 Spongebob movie

I am certainly not the first person to say this, but if you are a fan of excellently written dialogue you need to watch some of Aaron Sorkin's work. I would suggest Steve Jobs, starring Michael Fassbender. Regardless of what anyone's position on Apple or Jobs is, the film is masterfully written and told in a unique format. The film focuses on three separate moments in Steve Jobs' life rather than going the route of your traditional bio-pic. It almost feels like watching a brilliantly put-together three-act play. It is one of Sorkin's best.

Dale Henrickson

I liked rebel moon. My wife liked it too. My wife was never into fantasy. I see the flaws in the movie. I say this with all kindness. Your judgment of this movie is too hard and harsh because you know too much I watch the movie as if I’ve never heard of the Lord of the rings or Star Trek, or all the other fantasy, sci-fi movies, and just enjoyed it with my wife.

Dax Dibble

Cloud atlas is phenominal... But has a slow start. One of my favorites though. If you liked the fifth element by luc besson give valerian:city of a thousand planets a try (I don't like the main actors but the story and visuals are great).

Jaden S

Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy or Dune (1984)
