Hey all. This Writer Wednesday is going to be a little different.

Instead of coming up with something new, pull out something your wrote long ago. Could be from last week, last month... last decade. Reflect on how you've grown and changed as a writer, artist, and human being.

As always, feel free to share wherever you like!

*These Writer Wednesday prompts are completely optional. I know a lot of other VAs do them, so don't feel any pressure to do mine. I may brainstorm something different to do on Wednesdays. Just wanted a way to get you all active and involved! If you have ideas please let me know!

I love to sing and write. Since an early age. There was one period of time where I sang covers and posted them. Learning to harmonize with myself and syncing the audios files into one. I also kept a journal of lyrics to songs I wrote. Were they good? Probably not. Did I think they were at the time? Oh absolutely! 😂 I wonder where that journal went ...🤔🤔

I started working on a period piece a while back. I love writing those. However, I tend to bounce around from idea to idea, so it got left in my notebook, at least until now. I thought it was pretty decent, so maybe I will motivate myself to do something with it. ----- Attendants attempted to stop Lord Gilchrist just outside his daughter's chambers. Behind the door was a very nervous Lady. Iverly, affectionately known to her family as Ivy, was Lord Gilchrist's pride and joy—his only daughter. Just outside her chambers, Ivy could hear her father's shouts to her attending ladies to allow him in. Knowing him, he would not be deterred much longer. Ivy ran to hide behind her dressing screen as the doors burst open. "Child! Lord Brockston is soon to arrive. Why have you not dressed?!" Lord Gilchrist's big, booming voice made Ivy shiver at the sound. She peeked around the screen, still in her dressing gown. "Father," she said pleadingly, her big brown eyes welling up with tears. "Please, please don't make me do this!" She came around the screen. Her head lowered, letting her long, dark curls fall about her shoulders. Her father stepped close, cradling her face in his large hands. "Dearest, war is coming, and we are no longer afforded the luxury of staying neutral." He kissed her forehead. "Securing this match with Lord Brockston will ensure our future, especially yours. Now, enough delay." Ivy was more than aware of the war outside their city walls. Now, to bolster the ranks of her father’s army, she was duty-bound to marry a man she did not know. Ivy nodded to her father and let her attendants help her dress. “Yes, Father.” Lord Gilchrist ordered her attendants to escort her to the Grand Hall as soon as they finished. A chorus of “Yes, m’Lord” filled the room as he moved back into the corridor. A vision in a corseted dress presented in the house colors, Black and Rose Red. Ribbons were tied through her hair to contain the wild curls. Berries were crushed to color her cheeks and lips. She walked toward the Grand Hall, steeling herself for what was to come, taking deep breaths. Then she heard the doors begin to open. Her destiny stood just upon the other side.

Music is life! It's incredibly cool that you wrote lyrics. I hope you find your journal, or maybe begin a fresh one. =)

That's really good. I read alot of period romance books. Started stealing my mom's books when I was a teen. Lol.
