+1 vote for poem reading! I've been listening to Closer Baby Closer after reading it because to me, it adds a "narrator perspective" which enriches the poems.

I will definitely read more of these folks. Gibran especially! Familiar name from your past videos. My day 1s are a little different: Lewis Carroll, Edward Lear, Percy Shelley. One of these days I'll make a genuine attempt at publishing my own poems.

Really appreciate the nod to Treehouse of Horror on the cover and the experimentation of adapting the raven poem from poe for the respective segment! :D In regards to the formative poet who made me interested in this medium, the answer is......well, you. Growing up in my adolescent years, school (at least the one I went to) made it seem synthetic in the way I was exposed to it? I admittedly wasn't sold at first, but as I entered that transitionary period in life, one thing eventually led to another in a gradual sense that gained foresight and shifted my perspective, like discovering your content or a video where I begin to understand the components and I'm like 'poetry is starting to make fucking sense' and the realization of 'hey, I kinda like writing down and expressing myself with words actually'. But yes tldr your work is much appreciated Sav! Gonna listen to this and hopefully discover that one poem that could make me have a catalyst moment or something similar. :)

Listened to the Hera Lindsay Bird poem, and oh my god, I never knew poetry could be this funny (while also being this beautiful!). The whole stanza about self-sabotage, paired with such a moody delivery, sadwhiched in between other really beautiful lines, and then the actual visual being that of fireballing a cow is such a wild contrast. Loved it. Also, Re: the last part. Yes!! Please do more, this was great :)

I love this and Poe. You are one of the people that has got me interested in poetry. I even did my first reading of my first poem at a local poetry slam! :) One of my favorite poems is when i heard the learn'd astronomer. :) Have you heard of it? I am sure you have.

this post inspired me to read more edgar allen poe and i’m really enjoying it. i’ve been thinking a lot about the rhythm of his poetry which i remembered you mentioning here and if you ever feel compelled to record a reading of ‘the raven’ i’d be delighted to listen, you did ‘annabel lee’ beautifully x

Late to the party, but the fact that you like Joe Perra makes me feel a kinship with you even more 🥹
