I feel like doing Road to Kingdom first makes more sense to see how The Boyz made it to Kingdom. Their stages were incredible, honestly all of them were. Plus RTK has Woongki and Seongmin (formerly Jerome) when they were in TOO.

I know Universe League won’t win so I’m voting for Road to Kingdom because Woongi is in there, The Boyz won that season and are basically trendsetters for the entire Kingdom series (current BOTM), and it makes more sense to watch that first before Legendary War.

Doing Kingdom: Legendary War before doing RTK is like starting a show in the second season. It makes no sense. And...look, I'm just going to say it, because IMO, it's the truth. Road to Kingdom was better. It was more fun, the contestants had more fun with each other. All I remember about Kingdom: Legendary War was how absolutely toxic it got, by the end of it, no one was having a good time. Not saying there weren't good performances in it, because there were, but chronological order just makes sense, no?

i agree! plus, rtk (and specifically the boyz) also set the standard for performance level that most kingdom performances were based on. it really wouldn’t make much sense to watch kingdom before rtk :(

Yeah, I don't get it. IMO, Road to Kingdom was a much more fun watch. Honestly it got toxic and awful between all the fanbases in Kingdom, from what I recall. It really felt like everyone participating was ready for it to be over by the end.

Agree with my whole chest. I honestly think Kingdom is being bolstered by the fans of the groups that are in it and nothing else, because I don't know how anyone who saw both shows could objectively say Kingdom was more fun to watch than Road to Kingdom.

Yes, they're cleary going to be first place and runner up. But if Kingdom wins, yes RTK would be in the next poll, but it would be incredibly anti-climactic to watch it after Kingdom. In reverse, if we vote RTK this time, then Kingdom automatically goes into the next poll, and then everyone would vote for it and it would come after RTK where it narratively makes more sense. I don't get doing it in reverse.

ALSO! Would it not make more sense to recap Kingdom after Stray Kids and maybe other groups actually fully make it into lore? Like what if Kingdom happened and Stray Kids didn't make it as BOTM until Feb or March. It would be a more comprehensive watching experience that way.

Hmmm I watched Kingdom legendary war just as is without watching anything else, because 2 of my favourite groups were on it and I didn’t feel like I couldn’t understand or follow what was going on just because I didn’t watch road to kingdom. I thought it was totally fine and made perfect sense. Still haven’t watched road to kingdom tbh but I might one day.

I understand how you feel as I also ult 2 groups that were on Kingdom, so I felt more invested in the 2nd season — but as someone who watched both seasons, it really does not make sense to watch Kingdom before Road to Kingdom. Kingdom makes sense as its own standalone show if you don’t plan on watching RTK, but if Adam and RJ are going to react to RTK and Kingdom at some point, it just makes more sense to watch the first season before the second!

Is it that you're just Ateez or Stray Kids fans and you don't care about the rest, or is it some other reason? Oh yeah if they plan to do the whole kingdom lore then sure but that’s kind of unlikely with their schedule and I would prefer for them to react to other survival shows as well beside kingdom. Them reacting to all of it will take up so much time so I’m just going to vote for Legendary war and another survival show or just another snow when it’s time to vote again.

I just wanted to second someone else's take below re: RTK and Kingdom. The way that the votes are panning out, these two shows are clearly top 2, with the runner up automatically entered into the next poll. It looks like with just popular vote (sans any friedrich's pick), they will win back to back. So I implore folks to vote for RTK first because if Adam and RJ are inevitably going to watch both anyways, seeing the full set up (RTK) first before the show that it sets up for (Kingdom) makes a far more enjoyable storyline than the alternative of watching the prelude after the final show. I personally am a fan of more groups quantity-wise on Kingdom than on RTK, but I think we'd be doing a disservice to the contextual buildup and catalyst of a lot of Kingdom events if we didn't showcase the valiant effort of RTK teams to be the ones that made it to Kingdom beforehand. Also my other point of trying to wait for other Kingdom groups to make it into BOTM (and potentially added to lore) first before watching the show still stands. We're coming off a high with TBZ artist of the month, and ATZ is already in, but SKZ, the other likely large fanbase voting here isn't in lore yet. I'd love Adam and RJ to have more knowledge of SKZ before watching their progression in Kingdom.

For me I personally think Legendary war just had better performances. The stages were more fun to watch. And the set designs were also amazing. And the dynamic different groups had across the competition was so warm and cute. Mind you I’m a big fan of Ikon (which means technically should hate the show but I don’t) and I also like the boyz and skz.

I believe so, yes. As someone who was basically brand new to kpop while watching RTK, the stages are 100% worth watching even without any allegiances to any group. In terms of voting, I think people would continue to vote for RTK because a fair amount of berets still think the stages in RTK are better than the ones in Kingdom 😅
