yeah, the gyuvin x yujin k-ship is definitely not platonic for the majority 😬 but it’s always interesting hearing abt what the more popular ships on the k-side are! gunwook and taerae is huge, ricky and jiwoong is pretty big as well.

ew that's weird as hell, gyuvin and yujin are literally haobin's biological children. jk, the age difference is obviously the key issue at their young age as well as the sexualization of minors. him being an adult now in most countries isn't an excuse to immediately make strange crude comments about him, whether it's y/n nonsense from straight women or nsfw gay shipping. I completely agree with the argument that straight and even non-straight people perceiving being gay as something inherently hypersexual and hence adult-only is very homophobic since they wouldn't think children and teens having a crush on a peer of the opposite sex is inappropriate. however, it is still very bizarre to see so many zerose comment "yaay he is officially gay now" etc. I do realize that many of these comments are ironic towards the previous point, however I'm confused why they would genuinely think yujin of all people is gay. tbh he's giving the straightest member of zb1 lol, he's always gladly doing gf stan fan service and I can't think of anything which implies he's romantically into the same sex. not to mention he's rumoured to have already had a gf back in school.. as a gay person it gives me the ick how a lot of these non-gay zerose act as if other members being gay would 'rub off on him' - which is an old homophobic stereotype of homosexuality being contagious. he can be a decent straight boy with loving gay dads, it's fine. or maybe he's unsure about his orientation as many people his age are, who knows. but thinking yujin Must be gay because he's in zb1 is fetishistic and strange. I remember the drama surrounding korean gay guys voting yujin as one of the hottest idols and everyone freaking out about it. tbh I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt here because most korean gay men don't listen to bgs so they may not have known he's a minor unlike the other members. it is kind of funny though how out of all the zb1 members he is the most popular with the gays. must be a completely visual preference then and nothing to do with the fellow friend of Dorothy appeal.

and on the topic of k-ships I honestly think the reason for all these random ships and ship wars are a result of straight korean women having notoriously bad gaydars and resorting to shipping based off looks and yaoi tropes alone lol. jiwoong and ricky is a purely visual ship for example. their perception of hao as a hypermasculine cold dominant 'male beast' is hilarious. it's as if they've only seen one photo of him without the constant pout and know nothing else of him. I genuinely don't recognize him half the time when I come across their fan-art.

as someone who has watched boys planet 4 times.... you really didnt miss much of the eventual final line-up. they really did not give much airtime to their goofy sides at all. a lot of endearing & impressive moments, but not a lot of goofy variety moments that would have made their true personalities shine through like we get now. i also think they maybe held back, especially yujin & gyuvin, because of their experience in the competition. that being said, a rewatch would be really fun now that so many people have debuted & so much has happened (i have been rewatching the recaps recently while i do research for work & watching them with hindsight is so funny)

!! would loveee a rewatch series (if against all odds their schedules ever allowed for that lol). i rewatched the series with my friend to get him into zb1 and there are definitely some good moments between the members that couldn’t have the same impact on the first watch, granted they make up a very small part of the show lol.
