Hey, just cause I know you were on the matz train… to get you started on the Yungi train, Yunho and Mingi are wearing matching rosaries even though Mingi has said time and time again that he doesn’t have a religion. Also before weekend one Yunho was so nervous he went to a cathedral to pray they had a safe performance. Also! After their stage (I don’t remember if it was weekend 1 or weekend 2) one of the trending topics was a tall Korean man with blonde hair (Mingi) running around at the Anti-Up (EDM) stage

The way after Coachella Week 1 Jongho went straight to LA to vocal lessons tell you a lot about the man. His determination is there. Fun fact, San the week before didn’t have his abs so defined but he worked out more straight for a week to achieve those defined abs because he had this look in mind for Week 2. i would say probably the biggest discovery for the internet post-coachella was jongho and mingi, with san right behind them. everyone and their mother was talking about jongho's high notes, he was all over the internet. mingi just in general being mingi drew a lot of attention (in particular him pouring his drink over his head), and then also just san being san and being shirtless. atiny were so scared about the upcoming tour prices going into coachella because everyone thought san, as the most naked member, would probably be the most talked about and bring in the most fans, but the most talked about actually ended up being jongho, the most clothed member lol

the fact that they've said this was one of their hardest performances due to how dry and windy it was. like the sand was just blowing straight into their eyes and mouth. the screaming from seonghwa at the end was unplanned and he said he was so out of energy that he screamed to gather everything for the final performance.

Totally OK for you to be emotional! I became an Atiny right after Bouncy! I was touched about not only their Talent but their story. When I saw Ateez were performing at Coachella, I went for the first time and saw them for the first time live. I was sobbing in the crowd week 1. I was so proud!!!!

Yes! Off stage he's gives off the "boyfriend" energy. But on stage he's incredibly dynamic and magnetic from start to finish. It's incredible to watch. It's one of the main reasons he immediately became my bias watching Coachella. I was listening to them before but not actively until this moment.

lol you’re right about Jongho saying it was too dry. He went back stage and passed out. And he had abrasions he thinks. He still woke up and was going to vocal lessons which he sets up anytime he’s in LA with his teacher who’s based out of there. Wooyoung was actually just starting getting symptoms from his heat allergy? (Forgive me for forgetting the name) he kept having massive hives and swelling. Towards the end of the performance his face started to swell and he kept getting more winded than usual. He wasn’t allowed to go to Mowazine which was after this. Atiny were SO loud you could hear them at the main stage. YES YOURE ATINY!! I also sobbed both weeks watching it live on YouTube. The fits were better first week imo! But camera and vibe better this week. Seonghwa went on live after to take his bobby-pins out and counted each one and then turned off the live. Yall did miss Mingi busting his ass during the real when they were going in a circle lol. He did a lil side kick right in front of Jongho and fell on his butt but got up and ran off. Cute. Honestly so happy to see yalls reaction to this 🥹🥹🥹

1. Idk if you noticed but before the sword walk for Wonderland, Seonghwa was SCREAMING. He went on live and said he started losing energy and had to pump himself up and it ended up being a fucking legendary moment 2. The Seonghwa Wonderland ending with the ONE tear sliding down his cheek was so iconic I kept seeing it WEEKS after that on twt. The fandom kept turning that one moment into fanarts lol 3. The "Golden Hour" written on Hongjoong's fan was a spoiler for the album. The tl lost their minds we were like "Is that the name of the next album?!?" It was soo fun 4. I was also a San biased who is now fucking obsessed with Hongjoong so... it be like that sometimes 5. If you wanna watch the last concert they're releasing a movie of their previous tour in theaters next week! Anyways I cried the first time and now I'm crying again THANK YOU FOR WATCHING THIS <3

I don’t know if you noticed the tear stain on Seonghwa during the last moment in Wonderland… apparently he got really emotional at the end and ended tearing up, which ran down his cheek in very dramatic, theatrical Seonghwa-fashion. If you've cried at a performance (and by now you're cried at a few!) then there is no going back - Jongho actually won't let you, his siren ability is very strong. You don't need to know everything, have seen everything, have heard everything to be an atiny, or even just to be considered a fan of anything really. Who has the time?! I don't think I was expecting to get this emotional watching this, lol. Here are my numbered thoughts! 1. Woo and Apo have a similar "sparkle in their eye" charm and I appreciate the space to finally name it 2. The Real is a song I can't think about too long or I get a bit misty eyed, to play it at Coachella felt like a celebration and pride in being Korean and representing kpop. 3. It constantly tears at my soul that kpop fandom is set up the way it is. For me, when I think about naming myself in a fandom, it feels like such a big commitment and statement of identity, but kind of sucks in that it doesn't leave room for generally enjoying a group without going ALLL INNNN. Like I enjoy BTS, I enjoy the members, I enjoy a lot of their music, think they are incredible performers, have always rooted for them, and generally think of myself as casual ARMY, but I'm not sure I would ever tell my best friend that, who is definitely hardcore ARMY, because her sense of what it means to be a fan feels so different from mine. This is just my personal example, but have felt that way about almost every fandom, including atiny. I feel just very ready to push back on what it means to be in a fandom and change it into something broader and more welcoming.

I'd say post-coachella the most talked about/asked about members were jongho and san with mingi and hongjoong not too far behind! Jongho really shined bright because of his vocals! I think it's a rite of passage to cry over chellateez tbh welcome to the club! I saw Ateez for the first time in 2022. I cried as soon as they came out, midway through and then during the last song. It meant so much to me and was the best experience. just reiterating even though everyone else has said it - YOU ARE ATINY!!! please don't feel conscious about it. there's no minimum requirements - as soon as you connect with them and their music i'm sorry to say you're there!!! atp i feel like getting emotional when they perform live is just a given. like rj said, there's something about the live band that gets you, but i think that goes for their voices, too. knowing that they're singing live and going all out and that their priority is more that of a like rockstar than what you come to expect from idol performances. it's that feeling of like 'we're putting everything on the line' unselfconsciously that's almost overwhelming and so easy to connect to. the idol fandom can be vicious and you know that every single voice crack gets harped on about to the point that idols fear singing, but ateez just have this fearlessness and desperation on stage no matter how far they've come that is so addictive

Seonghwa’s teary and grateful live that night was so emotional. As a Seonghwa bias, it really felt like we went through something together and he wanted to be close with us that night to talk about it. I adore that heartfelt man.

This reaction was EVERYTHING! You had me over here laughing and bawling with you. Seriously. This is probably one of the best reactions I have ever watched. And we ALL went through it that night. There was so much build up leading up to Coachella. I am a Seonghwa bias and watch all his lives. He is very open about his dreams and fears, so I was so emotionally invested that when he started screaming during Wonderland, I was a hot mess over here. Seonghwa went live that night and cried with us and told us all about his feelings. The screaming during Wonderland was not planned and it just happened without him knowing. He said he was so exhausted that it was like gathering up the last of his energy for the last push. (Hongjoong’s brother in the audience said that moment also had him all emotional because he knew how hard they worked. It was like it all the emotion broke free at once. The Seonghwa ‘war cry’ and the shot of his with the single tear made the rounds for weeks after Coachella. There is so much fanart and shorts of those two moments that it is insane. Also, Jongho’s vocals were EVERYWHERE. In articles not focused on Ateez or Kpop, that is the most mentioned part of their performance. You could hear Jongho and the cheers all over Coachella.
