rewatching this and suddenly their dynamic reminds me of another couple who perfectly match each other’s freak. I can see Kiyoi describe Hira’s love for him by boastfully complaining "he looks at others with a kind and bright gaze but when he looks at me his eyes get very stern. I’m the only one who knows that deep down he’s a strange person, a psycho". sometimes he’ll feel guilty about how ardently Hira caters to him, asking him if it’s really okay only for Hira to confirm that it’s naturally comfortable and satisfying for him to serve his king. Kiyoi would love Hira's utter devotion proven by him saying he'd stop meeting his friends if Kiyoi asked him to. Hira would be just as possessive and go to any length to win back Kiyoi’s attention even if it means blatantly embarrassing himself in front of a large crowd. he’d worry every time Kiyoi leaves the house and get jealous of him eating out with colleagues and friends, renting cars to pick him up because "Kiyoi is too pretty and cute to go outside alone at night where other men could see him"

Late and irrelevant but I get really bad hiccups too! Like annoying, painful, and then they crop up over and over all day. Have you tried drinking upside down? As in, get a glass of water, stand and bend at your waist and try to drink it with your head fully upside down. It's awkward as hell but often works for me.
