N.T. Stars

Kim has never looked more comfortable on this show than in this episode, right after being threatened by an armed psychopath and plotting the career destruction of someone who offended her. This speaks volumes about her character. "Is she changing who she is to make it work?" In a way, yes, but I think she's finally leaning toward authenticity. She was drawn to Jimmy for a reason.

"Is she changing who she is to make it work?" To an extent. I disagree she's leaning towards authenticity, but that's a convo to have after they've finished the show.

Show is doing an amazing work in making people use double standards on characters and your reaction was amazing as always. You love Kim like we all do so naturally you use different standards for her whenever it suits you. So when Kim gets offended that Howard suggests she is badly influenced by Jimmy, you are ready to nod in agreement and say "That's offensive to her" but the moment Kim does bad thing herself (thinking up an evil plan to hurt Howard more) you go like "Oh no, poor Kim is just bending to accommodate to Jimmy".

Naw its a trauma response as much as anything else.

All this talk about Jimmy being a bad influence on Kim. It's not wrong to say that but it seems you guys are placing all the blame on Jimmy as if Kim cant do wrong, she is a grown woman capable of making her own choices. She may be influenced but she likes it and pushes it even after hurting Chuck. In my mind she is just as bad

The number one thing Kim hates is people infantilizing her and taking away her agency and doing things for her own good. Like Howard basically saying she is making a terrible decision and Jimmy is brainwashing her (when Jimmy literally pleaded with her to keep Mesa Verde). She got the vibe Jimmy was thinking about divorcing her for her own good, so she made the choice to double down on that lifestyle so that he feels comfortable to stay with her. It also reminds me when chuck called Jimmy a "Svengali". It's basically the same concept of some evil man brainwashing some innocent woman, though it's a very old reference only someone like Chuck would continue to use. I think it mirrors Jimmy in a way. All these people try to push Kim away from Jimmy "for her own good", only to make her want to double down even more, just like Chuck saying Jimmy can never change and never giving him a break to work with him at HHM only further pushes him into the path of being a criminal lawyer.
