A great movie choice, but I find the solo reactions just don't seem to have the same atmosphere.... Whenever Ivy isn't on screen, all the other comments should be asking, "where's Ivy?"

Hello Munchie. Never saw this one, mainly because of ... well, how do you do a comedy with Hitler as a main character ?! but the subject is so heavy...yeah make it kid friendly with comedy might be a good idea. Is that a good things: I'm not sure...but let's try! after all, we have a ton of french comedy about ww2 and nazis too... really a lot.( more often than not, Nazis are put in the "very dumb vilains" role in those...) Yes, the footage in black and white in the intro are real footage. Kaput= destroy, broken. "I don't like the way he talk" speaking of mind-Hilter being angry. well if one day, you see footage of him giving a speech, you'll be surprised on how accurate it is.... the way he moved and screamed is very much alike. Am I the only one thinking the officer fighting in his "colored" uniform, kinda destroyed the point of the scenes of "showing the horrors of war" with a very very dumb comedy? but atleast the officer did something good at the end. but I thing it would have been better without his colored uniform. Some intel you may need to understand: The Jungvolk (or hilterian's Youth) was a real things. In short, your kid are put in a kind of militatry school (like modern scout in hardcore mode) but one very heavy brainwash and propaganda to nazism and Hitler. And if, as a parent, you don't follow nazi's ideology in school for your kid, they take away your childs put them in the youth while you go to prison for life (unless you swear allegiance to hitler)....You want to create perfect little soldier who obey every order even the worst kind, trainthem to do it young.... so the opening scene is not even exagerated when he's claiming to give his life and the training. And the "h*il H*tler" was really the common salutation you had to do. in fact, if you salute with something else than that, you could get into very big trouble (you'll be watched by police, maybe put in prison, labor camp or Concentration camp to be extermianted). The book they burning are ALL the books that say anything the nazis don't agree with. (that means bible, philosohy, political idiology, history who don't tell history like the nazi want it to be and so on... the list is very long) The basics of Nazi's ideology is racial supremacy in all aspect (morally, genetically and so on)of the "Aryan race" (white skin, blue eyes and blond hair. Nothing like HItler btw, which is almost funny in a way). Everyone who's not Aryan or "pure" german is meant to be their slaves or exterminated. They choose the jews as theirs primary target because racism againts jews ("antisemitism" for short) was already big before them in most european country at that time. They just take an easy target to pull their rage of losing WW1 and pushed antisemitism even further. The Gestapo are their secret police. Those are the people who's tracking jews, communist and other "ennemy of the state". You seemed kinda lost about jews too, katie (maybe i'm mistaken) but in short: The Israelite (or Hebrew) people are all descendant from Abraham (in the bible, or the Torah. torah being the old testament of the bible, who's having 2 of them) . Then come Moses who gave them the laws of God and they became God's chosen people. they began being called Jews when they became to mixed to other people. In short, you have the hebrew/israelite as ethnicity and Jewish as religion (but very often they're both and we use the word Jews most of the time for simplicity). They talked about "cut penises" because they do circumcision (cutting the prepuce, the skin on the penis) to be set a part of others as "god's chosen. ( Guys, I made it simple for her to understand, I don't want to explain everything either. so please, be respectful if I explain some element rather quick or in a nutshell... it's for her or the others munchies to have an easy time to understand). they were a lot to say. But for the movie itself : well, it was way better than I feared. althoug sometimes, I think the comedy part is wasting the scenes. (mostly the officer in his colored uniform or some of Mind-Hilter uses). but most of it were very good. I really loved Scarlett Johanson acting ( BTW, she is Jewish too). In the end, it was a good time even with the worst of mankind in it. Thanks for the discovery. Have a good day, Munchie !!

Great reaction as always. Great spot about Hitler becoming more nasty the more friendly JoJo gets with Elsa, it's one of the reasons why I like this movie. Valkyrie (2008) staring Tom Cruise is about the attempt on Hitler's life that was mentioned.

The movie give hints that Sam Rockwall character is gay and his second in command is his lover. As gay people were also rounded up and sent to camps. He also knew about what Scarlett Johanson was doing. You can see was going to tell Jojo what happon to mother but the gestapo had already arrived.

Yeah, I feeled that. But I didn't feel it worth mentioning because it feels obvious. Just I think the shot of him in his colored uniform in the battle scene was ruining the message.

the World is in bad shape at the moment. i really hope for more lighter happier Comedy Movie Reactions . I love the Munchies and and Angels. But i love Katie the most.
