Oh boy, Serenity next week!

It's been a real pleasure rewatching this with you ladies. I don't know if it's already been mentioned, but Nathan Fillion (Captain Mal) started a campaign several months ago on social media to create a Firefly animated series! It's planned for all the cast to come back to provide the voices, and it will be set between this episode and the movie. I'm praying it's successful. Browncoats forever!!!

Yeah, it's frustrating because the series is just starting to make a serious turn in character development, but the show got cancelled. I'll say nothing about the movie, but some questions will be answered--of course that statement simply creates new questions, but I digress. That being said, if the Firefly animated series happens (it's being worked on right now), there is a chance we'll get all the answers and character development we wanted. The new Firefly animated series is supposed to be what happened between the end of the show and the movie "Serenity". Lots of possibilities and fans are very anxious ever since the announcement for the new series was made. As for this episode, I think it was a great way to start to really dig into what is going on with River. The whole crew is basically "spooked" by what she can do and while they care about her, they are afraid. In the beginning, she was hearing their words, but also hearing their true thoughts. It's one thing to talk to someone, but to hear their unfiltered thoughts would be difficult for anyone because we all hold things back to avoid confrontation and hurting people's feelings. Not because we want to lie, but because people and emotions aren't always rational or civil. That's just my 2-cents. River was likely able to hear the crew's true thoughts since the beginning, so she has had to endure quite a bit. I did like the way that they put the bounty hunter up against River. Early was a psychopath and a narcissist, no doubts there. He used mind games like he was a master at fear and manipulation. Then, "River has entered the chat". River doesn't need to lie or threaten anyone. Sure, she was on Early's ship and saw some photos, but she was in Early's head, knew his true spirit, and made him vulnerable in a way he couldn't defend. River seriously demonstrated who the true Alpha was when it comes to playing games with the mind. She didn't have to do anything but reveal the truth about himself. The entire crew got to hear what kind of bastard he really was, and humiliation is something narcissists can't handle well.

Now that Firefly is over, if you’re looking for another short series, Terminator The Sarah Connor Chronicles is pretty good. It has Cersi from Game of Thrones as Sarah and River from Firefly as a Terminator. I love it.

2 seasons. 31 episodes. 🙂 She’s actually my favorite Terminator after Arnold, and this show is my favorite Terminator thing after the first 2 movies.

Hello munchies!! Oh no... already the last one. Well at least we have the movie, but still... It have been a wonderful journey! Let's enjoy this one before the movie. For the episode Oh wow....is she really hearing their thoughts or is she delusional? Ok question for the maternal English speaker : what's the difference between "understand" and "comprehend"? Because for me, it's the same... In french, we translated those 2 word with the same one. ( Or maybe another I can't think of now). Bounty hunters? "Anyone we can't spare." Ouch !! 🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for Jayne !! "We live in a spaceship dear" ok I loved that line ! 😂 "Go back to business" Yuna , that was cute! But even when Simon manage to be slightly romantic, something is blowing it up !! 😅 Between, badass, stupid and freaky, I can't decide which one our "early" bounty hunter is !! Badass= he's effective! To board the ship and fight Mal. Stupid...listen to his conversation with Simon and for freaky..with Kaylee's menace or Inara's. "You can bear a child if you want! We don't want it" Katie ? 🤣🤣 She might be the first woman I ever heard say something like that ever! But that's one horrible death waiting for him! 😈😊 ( Even if his last scene looks like he will survive!) For the conclusions. Like you said! The weekend will feel empty now. Like Chi said, we feelied in a family. But river took us really by surprise! Hard to know if she really have power, greater sensibility or just become crazy and genius at the same time. I hope the movie will get some answers. ( I have vague memory of it) Early was both unsettling aand very funny! He look very dangerous but ended up being easy to destabilise. Anyway a very good time! Really enjoyed watching the reactions and hearing the comments of Chi, Yuna and Katie during this final episode of Firefly. Sad that the show got cancelled after only 1 season and we won't get to see them reacting to any more episodes of Firefly, but at least they'll be reacting the Serenity movie soon. Looking forward to that.

That look on your face was on all our faces at the end of the series. And it will hit again at the end of the movie. Thats why I always watch the blooper reel after the movie. Its a nice emotional reset.

Another option for future sci-fi could be the series "V". The 2009 remake starred Morena Baccarin from this series.
