This patch is for Windows/Linux only. The patch only includes episode 12 content.

Only patch your game if you know what you're doing. Download the full game instead if you are unsure.

Make a backup copy of your game before you patch.

The patch only works with the Season 3 base game Being A DIK - v0.11.0/v0.11.1/v0.12.0

Download the attachments to this post. Do not click "Download all"; that button doesn't always work as intended. Click each individual file below to download all files.

Instructions for PC and Linux users:

1. Download the three patch files named "BeingADIK-0.12.1-pc-lin-patch.z01", "BeingADIK-0.12.1-pc-lin-patch.z02". and "BeingADIK-0.12.1-pc-lin-patch.zip".

And make sure your folder looks like the image below.

2. Unzip the .zip file using WinRAR or 7-Zip. Do not extract with Windows' native tool; it will fail.

This is how you extract with WinRAR:

3. Copy the files in the patch folder into the "game" folder of Being A DIK v0.11.0/v0.11.1/v0.12.0. Overwrite files when prompted. (There is a video explaining this process included in the zip file.)

4. Play.

If your extraction fails, make sure you did steps 1 and 2 correctly. Read them carefully again.

Windows/Linux (5.10 GB)

If you want updated movie files for Episode Interlude and Episodes 9-11, which now include sex sounds, you must also download additional files according to these instructions.

Download "BeingADIK-0.12.1-sex-sounds-patch.zip" and "BeingADIK-0.12.1-sex-sounds-patch.z01"

Extract the contents of "BeingADIK-0.12.1-sex-sounds-patch.zip" using WinRar or 7-zip.

Copy the files in the patch folder to the "game" folder of Being A DIK v0.11.0/v0.11.1/v0.12.0 or your already patched Being A DIK v0.12.1. The order you patch your old game doesn't matter because none of the new patch files conflict. Overwrite files when prompted.

Note that the sex sound patch alone won't update your game to v0.12.1. If you want the sex sounds, you can download all five files from below.

Hi! That looks like you didn't patch it correctly. I would recommend you to download the full version as it is too difficult for me to say what went wrong.

Looks like you played with mods previously. The only fix is to delete your game, persistent and save files from "game/saves" and "%appdata%/RenPy/BeingaDIKSeason3-Patreon-1535311494" Re-download the original game files from Patreon. Don't modify your game to avoid problems in the future.

So I got the patch installed correctly, been playing all day. Still on my 1st playthrough of the episode. I'm stuck at the animation at the beginning of the NYE party. It stutters so much and eventually freezes either at the pan-up on Camila or on Jade. I've NEVER used or installed mods, so it is clean. Any solutions?

Hi — quick question about starting Season 3. I installed Being a DIK Season 3 v0.12.0 (full Patreon download, clean install). The main menu only offers Continue and Import — there's no New Game option. I no longer have my Season 1-2 saves, so Import finds nothing and I have no way in. Is there an intended way to start Season 3 without importing a previous save? An official starter save, or a screen where you pick the key choices manually? Thanks.

Try pressing Shift + G and then change the active renderer options. See if that helps.

Thanks, DPC. I rebooted my laptop and did this. I was able to get past it to the end of the video to continue the game. It still stuttered quite a bit, and I thought it had frozen again with Josy taking photos, but it finally made it through

I am having issues with the game crashing right after the clock scene and bella starts talking. Tried downloading the full game and patching it.

We do have scene replays for ep. 12 right? I think i forgot to uninstall the mode and that's why I'm not seeing them rn? Just double checking

mods are not condoned or supported. Scenes in the gallery are only available if you actually experience the scene in the game.

I'm having issues skipping seen dialogue after patching. Is this something anyone knows how to fix?

This is due to a number of typos and bug fixes in prior episodes that cause realignment of the text, so skip won't work. You would have to skip unseen text for prior to ep11 and then disable it for ep12 to ensure you don't miss the new stuff

I updated my 11.0 and had issues extracting the files because I downloaded the game update and sex sounds in the same folder to begin the extraction. After I gave the update files its own folder - no issues. I extracted into an empty folder and copied into the game folder with no issues... That was until after I installed the sex sounds. I hate to say it, but they are a total miss for me. Still, it took 100s of hours of game play for me to find a real negative for me. Now, I just need to figure out which files I need to delete and which ones to restore with my backup game. - DON'T SKIP THE MAKING THE BACKUP COPY STEP - for your own sake. Awesome update.

It seems that you outdid yourself again! The graphics are gorgeous, the story is breathtaking and the characters are more lively than ever! I also had no issue installing the patch and getting it to work like a charm! The only issue I had is that during the big free roam event toward the end of the episode, a few characters are introduced with animations, but if you missed them somehow and when back to see them, the animations wouldn't play properly and you would only see a black screen with some kind of smokey effect. I needed to reload before clicking on the characters to see them properly. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who encountered this.

That's the result of the new animation system, sadly. When rolling back and it gets black, if you wait until the animation pause is complete, it should show the end picture after a while. I've been looking into ways to solve this, but haven't found a clear cut way yet. EDIT. Actually, strike that. Did some more investigating and I found a way to fix it. Lol. Thanks!

Tried the patch for the first time (instead of just downloading the full thing directly), and it went smoothly! I second the warning of NOT using the default windows application to unzip these files (trust me, I tried and it was worse than I could have ever expected). The "partition files" are no problem, but the only hair in the soup that I found is that the files downloaded very slowly. It seems Patreon puts a hard speed limit of 3 MB/s no matter how many files you try to download at once. It took me over half an hour to download the whole patch. Can't wait to play it tonight!

Had some kind of issue with the Download All button. I hit it a couple of times and nothing happened. When I went to download each folder, every request went through. Everything is fine; this is just an FYI.

This is a common link for all VN games - any changes in the script and the skip button treats the text as unseen (which it is in a way).

Do these sounds include moaning sounds or are they just sound effects. All I hear during the scenes is really loud slapping and popping sounds so I'm not sure if I did something wrong.

Thanks for the 0.12.1 patch. Awesome episode. Normally, I play two or three of my saves and come back every few weeks to play some others. Now I am already at my sixth playthrough and still want to continue. But the real troubled ones are still on the waiting list... not in the mood for total fallouts at the moment... :-)

Video explaining patch doesn't work for me. Downloaded the main three. extracted using winrar, do I copy this folder and the other two downloads into the game?

copy the CONTENTS of the patch folder into the game folder. Don't copy the folder itself. You go inside the patch folder, select all the files. Copy, then go to the game subfolder of your game installation and paste. Say yes to overwrite. If you didn't get the overwrite message, you did something wrong.

Last patch file seem corrupted, no matter how many times I download it, Can you please re-upload BeingADIK-0.12.1-pc-lin-patch.z02. I plan on buying steam version as well, so if you can't get to until Sep 1, no worries. Thank you.

I just downloaded it and it extracted without error. Make sure you extract using WinRAR or 7zip. Native Windows "extract all" can't process split archives and gives and error. Do not use the download all button. Download one at a time. Try to avoid overlapping downloads to ensure no glitching. Also, make sure you have no extra characters in your file name such as (1) or (2). The names should match exactly as you see above. Downloading a file multiple times can cause Windows to add numbers to the filenames to prevent overwrite. Make sure you are not using AI to group resulting downloads (we have seen it renames files). If you are still having an issue with the file, try clearing your browser cache or try another browser. If none of that works, come onto discord and share a screenshot of your downloaded files and we can see what might be happening.

For some reason animations in episode 12 have nothing going on in them, they just are a black screen and skips back to a normal frame. Any fix for this?

Hi! Yes, the fix is to enable a sound device. The animations need a sound output or else they will appear as black screens.

Were is the patch for ep11 as my game folder has all up to 10 and no 11 and this patch is just 12? If I add this I get missing images re ep11.

No, you can only apply this patch to v11. You will need to download the full Season 3 game if you're missing episode 11.
