"Move your ass, Adele. We'll hug it out later." Her level of badass is immeasurable.

It is interesting because Alpha and Echo are like two sides of the same coin, one represents evil and chaos, and the other is good and balance

Alan Tudyk is Alpha's actor's name, and yeah, he really is great. And honestly, it's easy to take it as second nature by this point, but all the dolls are played by really solid actors. They really do a great job swapping in and out of all their various roles. I have to imagine that must have been a lot of fun for them, but also a big challenge at the same time. Eliza Dushku, too, as good as she was as Faith, really is at another level here.

Solid episode here. I really appreciate the Patton Oswald stuff and the commentary on grief and all the dollhouse stuff. It always makes me feel so much. He really learned his lesson and grew after being confronted and told it was wrong. But after everything, after knowing everything, when faced with the essence of a dead loved one, damn, to walk away from that would be so hard and he did it twice. I also like that echo appreciates the nuances and holds space for them. She's the shell of many people and not really a full and complete person, yet she's more evolved than most complete people. The commentary of this show and the way it provokes philosophical and ethical questions and discussions really holds it above other shows for me. People criticize this show because they think it's endorsing the idea of using bodies with no regard to the lives that live within them, I disagree and wonder if they truly watched the show. But of course it's okay for them to think differently, I kind of think that's part of the purpose of the show. I'm starting to talk in circles, so time to wrap this comment up here. 😉 Another great episode and reaction. Oh, also, your memory is fricken amazing!! I struggle in remembering things and I've seen this show so many times. Massive kudos! 👏

I've made my peace with this show only having a very short run but I do remain a little annoyed that we were deprived of more Dollhouse fight scenes. I've always found them to be very intense, well done, and satisfying to watch. The kickboxing influenced style that they have Paul/Tahmoh Penikett doing in particular is very cool and the actor pulls it off well. The Paul/Echo fight scene in the kitchen from back in S1 remains one of my all time favourites just on any tv show, period.

You were correct that the guy that Alpha blew up was the guy in the opening scene of the pilot episode. He’s the first engagement/client that we see in the show

Love when Faith jumps out!

Such a great episode. The opening part is so fascinating. It's another reason to bemoan its early demise. The concept of someone spending their entire fortune on repeat engagements is something that could've taken up an entire episode. Someone with every conceivable resource chasing that feeling of love. The world that was created here within the show is a storytelling engine. There were many different types of very stories that could be told depending on the type of engagement. What they said about human nature & our instinctual needs.

I'm glad you immediately remarked on the very Joker-y performance of Alpha. That was the first thing that came to mind for me when it originally aired. Years later you would get to do the character in an animated role. Still would've loved to have seen him do it in live action.
