I can’t say I am or was a Wheaton fan; but I’m a late bloomer for my interest for Firefly.

Chad’s pronunciation of ‘Cicerones’ was perfectly engineered to get all parties. Chicharrones, aren’t pronounced like that either! Truly a master at work

Chad's stolen story of his friend's reaction to vampire movies brought back a flood of memories. I was a child when "The Exorcist" came out so of course I was not allowed to see it, but the TV commercials for the 1979 re-release were enough to leave me traumatized. As a thirteen-year-old altar boy, I prayed a rosary every night for months, and kept a full 15-decade rosary by my bed at all times. At its worst, I could not go to bed without first calling one of my older sisters, who had moved out and lived in their own apartments, because I was certain that unless someone else in my family was awake I would be possessed by the devil in my sleep. Sadly, of course, none of those precautions were sufficient, and I was eventually possessed anyway.

I first saw Firefly with my uncle when I was younger, and thoroughly enjoyed the Space Western. Later watched Serenity at a summer camp on a TV and DVD player we snuck into the mess hall late at night. Irregardless of the quality of the show itself, I have very fond memories of sharing it with others.

I was 16 when I first saw Buffy so absolutely target demographic. My wife and I are currently rewatching it. It holds up better than I feared but I only like maybe 2 characters now. I never want to be a teenager again.

Used to love firefly and Never watched Buffy. I did watch the original Kristy Swanson Donald Sutherland movie though, but the stars were never right for me to watch the show.

I 100% pictured a giant, cosmic cast iron skillet when I first learned of “The Great God Pan” - I’m glad I’m not alone!

Bugberry

I agree with Chad about the dialogue in Firefly. I started watching it about a decade ago, and enjoyed it for awhile, but the characters started to grate in a way that was hard to place.

It's a Ghost.

Three cheers for Aick-ril! I read The Swords a couple years ago and read Bind Your Hair just last month, so now I only have to read The Cicerones to get ready for next month!

It’s official: The intro to Wet Season and this month’s feedback shoutout have made me a minor celebrity to my son. I started listening in 2014 when he was 1. I never would have imagined that almost 11 years later, I’d be driving him to middle school and he would not only be listening to you guys with me, but enjoying and looking forward to it. If you ask me, that’s money extremely well spent. Thank you to you both for allowing all of us to come along on this ride with you and for making us look cool in the process.

If you’re still looking for aquatic monsters, Aickman has a short story Niemandswasser that would fit. Also William Hope Hodgeson has a number of spooky sea stories about ghosts and monsters. You’ve already done a couple of them. The Boats of the "Glen Carrig" is the best known of them.

Richard Upton Sinclair Lewis Pickman

More movies for bonuses coming up, huh? Well, word on the street is the Dollar Whisper Club is revived (except now it’s 5$ due to inflation, but it’s still a valued service). So, if someone we’re to sneak up behind you and breathily whisper, “Dooooo Freeeewaayy,” I have an alibi.

Anders D

I was going to suggest "May-ckman", but I'll take "Aick-ril" because that means we get the episodes a month sooner.

Music of Eric Zahn And 10000% DAY OF THE DRAGONS. Need to be advertised . Two of my absolute favorites

Cole Caron

Super excited for the coverage of “Bind Your Hair,” probably my favorite Aickman story and favorite Aickman protagonist.

I’ve had a day or two now to contemplate the concept of a “brandishing stance”. I have chuckled to myself both at the concept and the story you told that referenced it. How many of us practiced various “brandishing stances” of our own: Pulling toy Katanas off our backs and readying for battle, practicing our favorite Ninja Turtle moves (with appropriate weapons of course), quick drawing toy pistols, brandishing Rambo style toy combat knives, etc. The whole concept sent me right back to childhood and all the great times We all had with the benefit of boundless imaginations.

Camshaft

In the spirit of non sequitur commentary, I purchased a creepin and peepin mug, and it arrived broken, so I used it to hold a plant. His name is Robert because I am not creative.

I guess I will stand up for Firefly, unsurprisingly a minority opinion since the show did get canceled. Never even got a full season. I initially avoided the show, having lost interest in Buffy and Whedon long before, and also I was annoyed that Fox put Firefly up on Friday nights in direct competition with a far superior show on the SciFi network, _Farscape_. A friend of mine turned me on to Firefly via the DVDs and I got a big kick out of it. I like space opera, I like westerns, I like criminals with hearts of gold. It was a pretty good show. Although, again, _Farscape_ is MUCH better.
