Snow rabbit for 93! This one is the line and wash style, but this time with a white rabbit in the snow. White objects are a great subject to use the line and wash technique because the pen lines hold the edges of the white and we don't have to worry about painting it. I have a reference photo attached and the only wet into wet parts are the blue snow shapes in the beginning. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: The palette I'm using today is the split primary palette by letter sparrow: cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean(probably closer to phthalo blue), indigo and sap green. I don't use all the colors, but I will name them as I mix them. Feel free to use pre mixed convenience colors as well.

White paint - optional. I used white gouache at the end for snow splatters

Brushes: round 4 & 10- Princeton brand. Also- liner brush for the whiskers

I’m very new to negative painting and so far, not so good at it but this was really fun anyways.

I am so excited for this one!

Luella

This bunny is awesome!

Virginia Perejda

Loved doing this! The colors beautiful when dried, and loved the shading!

Leslie Young

I'm giggling at "they will look angrier the more horizontal they are." accurate but now I'm visualizing bunnicula.

Sandy Manning

That snow rabbit is so lovely and amazing how we missed the whiskers but they are great now 🤗

Paula

I loved this one!

Susan C Terris

I loved this one also. Had to do a few tries to get one that was decent. I appreciated your teaching & explaining how & what to do, and why! Slowly it is sinking in.

Question: for the background, did you let it dry between layers to get the hard lines or was it all done wet into wet? Loved this one, but I had trouble getting as much dimension to my background.

Louise Win

I have really learnt so much, thank you, but snow is very difficult for me. I think if I had your colours I would have found the journey easier - one thing I did find out- I can actually draw a little bit!

Wow I was about to start this, but it looks soooooooo complicated, I am wondering if I should just leave it, or give it a try. Gosh I'm intimidated.

Elizabeth

Hi Lisa, I've just watched the video, I'm very behind and she did mention a few times that she left things to dry. I hope that helps. Perhaps just watch it again.
