Wow. Really love this tutorial. The salt and blob are my favorite.

Michelle Sis

Fun! I love them all! Probably #1 and 5 my favs! Thanks for the lesson! ❤️🙏

Maura

I had just commented that I needed more snow practice and here you share exactly that! No need to search for an older video for this afternoon 🩷I am sorted!! I like the lifting technique tree the best, but will see which one I actually enjoy painting once I try😊

Vicki

My faves are the water blob one and the lifting one

Sandy Marr

I like the lifting. This is great for a few trees but what about a mountain forest scene? Maybe I have missed that. Thank you.

Wardee

So fun! Thank you! I can't wait to try them all!

Harry Brownsell

Salt effect looked very icy. The blob I was a good one too for keeping it random.

Lindsey Vis

Perfect - this came just in time for a weekend retreat in the mountains - I can practice before I go so that I can paint what I see up there!

Helen

So fun how different each one looks. I want to try them all! Water blobs is my favorite followed by lifting and negative.

Diane M

Wow! This is great, Kristin. I love them all. I can't pick a favorite ....but I do like the "blobs" of water tree, since we're trying to develop wet-in-wet technique. Really fun. Thank you!!

Marian

Great tutorial; I like seeing the pros/cons side by side. I love the blob tree! I also liked the lifting (as in the holiday cards) and the blue tree. The Salt tree is cool, however, it is very pigmented, so I would only use in shadows, like you mentioned. Fun tutorial!

Heather R Hare

I’m blown away by the water blobs one! And I think I liked it even more before you touched it up with the green and shadows. I liked it kind of swirly and abstract. In terms of something that would actually fit into my paintings though, I greatly prefer the negative painting one. Which is good, since that’s where my skill level is right now 😂

Jerri

Yay!!! Thank you for posting…I’ll work on these!

Bear Raeb Barrett

Daughter likes 1 &3 I think I like 2 & 5 Just need to lighten pigments. The other trees I was just playing around with the brush

Bear Raeb Barrett

I think white paint is still needed on mine lamo

Judy Carl

Blob 💯❤️. Learning KVL’s tricks/tips is great inspo to put paint to paper & just play 🫶🏻

Loretta Lewis

This is a great tutorial Kristin thank you for this. I love how each tree looks real but each is different, and they can all in the same forest.🤩

Debbie

You are over-the-top brilliant in how you help us learn, and your dedication is beyond compare. Judy said it all. So true. A universe of thank yous is not enough.

Susan Love

I really liked the blob and the lifting techniques.

StarBlue

Love them all, the blob is my favorite!

Loretta Hulley

The blob tree is my favourite, The snow clumps look so realistic.

Dana

Love the BLOB!!!

Johanna

Thank you for another snow tree explanation! Love 2-5 negative painting is more difficult for me. Very helpful !

Chris

I feel like drawing the snow clumps in #1 is my least favorite. There are things about each one that I like and I hope to dive into this one on the weekend. I have a question. I’m wondering how many of us are left handed. I am and sometimes feel that is why I have difficulty seeing things like the negative space of a painting. After I’ve watched a video a few times it will become more clear but that initial look of a technique will sometimes just hurt my brain. Curious if anyone else experiences that kind of thing.

Karlina

I’m right handed, but experience this when I watch left-handed tutorials.

Sandy Manning

Thanks so much Kristin all 5 snowy trees were very good. I did like tree 3 but tree 5 was very natural looking as you said. Thanks for the clear instructions on each tree it is all a case of practice and more practice for us. You do go the extra mile which helps and means so much to me and am sure others too. Take care 🤗

Jeanette

Thanks so much for taking extra time to film this tutorial! I know some people didn’t like the snowy trees and that’s ok. I do like them, and am excited to learn different ways to paint snow on trees without white paint. After painting the trees though, I do love to put some pretty highlights in with a gel pen. It really makes the sun look like it’s hitting the branches. I appreciate you Kristin! Your Patreon and YouTube tutorials have brought a lighter heart to my days and something fun and pretty! I am growing in my skill and confidence!

Brenda Rodammer

They are all gorgeous! Can't wait to try these methods.

Kristin Rambo

Oh, this was fun. I must say, you make this look so "easy". I agree with you on SALT and WATER BLOB trees. I like them best. The blue tree was a little easier for me to paint today and I think you said you've painted "hundreds of snowy trees", and I can see from my attempts today, I am about 85 trees behind my idea of "painting as Kristin does"😇 Your classes and style of painting is so approachable, it makes me think "I can do this". Thank you

Kels

Please keep producing videos like this one! So valuable for practicing different techniques! It’s nice that it’s under 20 minutes.

Rachel Wiandt

My trees are definitely challenged but this is a good exercise to use some of my scrap paper and just keep trying. :)

Mary Ann Williams

I love this!!! Can't wait to try all the techniques! Thanks so much for this.
