Hi everyone! See you at 12 PM MST

You’ll be able to click the link and join at 12 PM MST when the class starts.

If you can’t make the live class, don’t worry! All classes are recorded and available to watch any time after the stream ends.

The picture attached below had the most votes and I can’t wait to show you how to paint this beautiful scene with a focus on wet into wet.

I'll be using a size 4 and 10 round brush, a piece of arches 140lb coldpress paper size 5 x7” taped down, and my split primary palette (cad yellow, cad red, ultramarine blue, magenta, lemon yellow, cerulean, indigo and sap green)

Let me know what questions you have! Can’t wait to paint with you

When lifting paint to make clouds do you wet the paper towel or is it dry?

Eva

Hi, do you tilt your paper when you paint? Thanks

Carla Giller

When I did the clouds, the edges are fuzzy; yours are much more distinct. What am I doing wrong?

Jessica Neal

Do you need to clean the paints periodically?

Lizzy Carol

Jerry’s Artorama is having a huge sale (online)

When lifting my brush seems too soft to lift like yours?

Carla Giller

My clouds are fuzzy on the edges; yours are more distinct. What did I do wrong?

Harry Brownsell

Hi everyone can't stay to watch as just leaving work. Hoping to do this on catch up as it looks great.

Harry Brownsell

WN cerulean 🤣 the blue sand of colours within the set.

Denise Gilbertson

oh, gosh, mine doesn't look anything like the reference - but a wonderful getting-started-learning experiment!

Yanzel

I have a scrubber and it didn’t even occur to me to use it!

lifestorylady

Ok i do have a scrub brush! Thanks!

Felicia

My sky is a gonner lol! I’ll watch later and do another one.

Eva

Can you givesome tips on making splatters. Mine is always either too fine or a big blob 😔

Nancy Guenther

I have some great inexpensive scrubbers from Dick Blick. They come in various sizes and are called Wonder White scrubbers. Blue handles. Shaped like filberts. Won’t harm paper. I got some on Amazon that ruined paper (red handles). The Wonder Whites were recommended by another artist whose name escapes me.

A Sharkey

Love this. Will replay and practise. Thank you.

Diane M

This was fun and more detailed than I expected but really beautiful. Lots of skill/techniques to learn. Thank you

Jeanette

I am not ready to paint this yet but have benefited from watching the process and learning how to do things like splatter better. Eventually, I hope to try this one. You do such a wonderful job teaching people at so many stages in their skill!

C Marie

Kristin, thank you!! I appreciated the splatter explanation!

Veronique

So much to learn , thank you so much for a brilliant class.

C Marie

Also, doing wet-on-wet over an area that has already been painted and has dried

Katydid

Your painting is awesome! Love the sky. My sun area looks similar to your first one. Thanks for this.

Carla Giller

Where do we post our paintings?

Denise Gilbertson

This was a lot of fun - I appreciate just getting started!

Yanzel

The house seems like a dream. Hope you many happy years (again) there!

C Marie

I'd be in Scottsdale in a hearbeat!

Diane

When all things fall into place... the universe at work!

Debi

I have a brush from Rosemary&co called the eradicator. It’s a travel brush used for lifting. I bought it from art toolkit.com.

Debi

Thank you for the replay. This painting is beautiful!

Debi

Congratulations on selling your home and on your move! ❤️

Marian

Replay crew! Watching first before I try. I love both of these, but the 2nd one has a great light area in the middle that looks magical!

Stephanie Stearns

omg! I can't believe I missed the Live. It was on my calendar and I was home painting all day today. duh

Helen

Replay Crew, thank you for all the little tidbits, like how to get a pale color that’s not blobby, or how to create different forms of splatter and how to adjust mixing the greens. I’m going to try painting it again and premixing colors to match yours. I know they don’t have to match exactly, it’s more an exercise for me to see if I can create those colors with the colors I have.

Helen

From here, click the X to close comments, then the < to go back to the main screen, the chat button is at the bottom, 2nd icon from the left - at least on my iPhone that’s how it’s set up.

Helen

And yes!! A meet and paint with me would be lovely. I’m in Scottsdale, so that would be easy.

Jen P

I just came here to ask the same 🙂

Patricia Aires

yes please do a Sedona workshop! I live in Sedona. Just don’t have it between May 20 and June 5 2026 when I’m out of town on my first vacation in 7 years.

Gigi

Super excited for you buying your grandma’s house!
