Today we're painting a wave for #12! There might be a lot of parts to this one, but we can take it slow, step by step and just focus on the textures. The key to this painting is leaving white space for the wave foam. Keep that in mind as you paint around it and use texture techniques like dry brush and the foam will appear. Remember you can always leave more white space and cover it up later. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.
Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, magenta, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - Cerulean, cad yellow, cad red and ultramarine blue. I'm mixing all the browns using ultramarine blue, cad red and cad yellow, but you can use a convenience brown if you prefer not to mix.
Brushes: round 4 & 10 - Princeton brand.
