Edit: I said I'm using Perm rose in the first 15 seconds, but I used CAD RED, which I correctly state the rest of the video. Sorry!
Bird with bokeh for 37! Start with lots of pigmented blobs in the body of the bird wet into wet, not worrying too much how they interact together. Let it completely dry and then you can lift out areas that dried weird or bloomed in ways that you didn't want. Then lift out the highlights of the feathers to get subtle texture without painting all the feathers in the body of the bird. Background is optional, but it was fun to create a simple bokeh effect to finish off the painting. I can't wait to see how you do with this one! Please let me know if you have any questions.
Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.
Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette- cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, cerulean, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - cad yellow, cad red, and ultramarine blue.
Brushes: round 4 Princeton
