Hi everyone!

I’m so excited to officially share the first watercolor retreat for 2027 - Ireland!!May 11th - 18th, 2027

The retreat will open for booking this Thursday May 21st at 9:00 AM Arizona time for Patreon members only, and next week to the general public.

I know so many of you were disappointed about missing out on Scotland, and even though it's not the same place, I think this trip to Ireland will be just as amazing! It's actually owned and hosted by the same lovely couple who we spent time with in Scotland.

Here's a little blurb from the site "Stay in a 17th-century Irish manor house set on a 400-acre estate, with the entire property rented solely for this retreat. Surrounded by ancient woodland and private lakes, enjoy nourishing meals prepared by the private chef and experience the beauty of County Monaghan with visits to the shores of Lough Muckno, the grounds of Castle Leslie, and the colorful Georgian streets of Glaslough Village. Along the way, you'll gather inspiration, sketch, and develop a meaningful watercolor collection to take home, along with a kaleidoscope of unforgettable memories!"

What's included:

Art classes, individual tuition, and demonstrations with artist Kristin Van Leuven

Fresh flowers for the workshop component

Studio equipped with: tables, chairs, field easels, portable plein-air stools, paper towels, professional studio lights, and glass jars

Exclusive use of the entire historic 400-acre manor estate, including the Manor House, Cottage, Gatelodge, 2,500 sq. ft. studio, private lake, lakeside sauna, gardens, and private grounds

7 nights of accommodation at a historic Irish manor

7 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 7 dinners carefully prepared by a private chef

All diets catered for, including vegan and gluten-free diets

Wine and non-alcoholic beverages served during dinner

Homemade snacks in the afternoon

Complimentary water, coffee, and tea available throughout the day

Half-day art trip to Lough Muckno with opportunities for sketching on location

Full-day art trip to Castle Leslie Estate and Glaslough Village with opportunities for sketching on location

Private transportation and chaperone for all planned trips and activities

*all the photos attached to this post are from the private venue where we will be staying!*

Once again, I’ll post the booking link here on Patreon Thursday morning before it goes public anywhere else, so you’ll have early access to reserve your spot first.

If you have any questions, you can ask them here, or inquire at uptrek.com. They are super quick to respond and are very helpful.

I truly cannot wait for this one 🤍

What’s the location and price?

ellen lekatz

I know it’s in Ireland but Ireland is kind of a big place lol

Kristin Van Leuven

The Irish countryside in Monaghan County. The price varies if you want a private room etc. Starts around 4500

Teresa Lavenue

Oh shoot! I want to join but will be in Scotland then! Maybe next time

Virginia Fullerton

Hi Kristin, will the format be similar to the Scotland retreat such as all skill levels, similar presentations, color theory, perspective lessons, etc?

ellen lekatz

Hey Kristen, do you ever do retreats in Canada or Mexico? There’s some gorgeous places in these countries too. Just curious if I had it my way I’d go to a retreat every month lol

Iben

Dollars or Euro?

Susie Putnam

Wow that looks amazing I sure wish I had the money to go.

Leah

Hi Kristin, will this have primarily studio painting or plein air, or a mix?

Bear Raeb Barrett

That sounds reasonable for a week with meals. I hope yall have great fun

ellen lekatz

Everything has been dollars so far so that would be my assumption. But you can go to Uptrek and check it out.

Michelle

What a clever way to see the world!

Marion Arnold

I hope you'll go to France again in 2029 - then I could come by car! 😊

Richard Perejda

Hi Kristin - my wife started her watercolor painting last summer and has been looking at your retreat to Ireland in May 2027, but may not be able to attend due to some April scheduled commitments. I am thinking of surprising her with a retreat trip in Summer/Fall 2027. Do you have anything planned for Summer/Fall 2027? Thanks, Rick (rperejda@earthlink.net)
