Lavender field for 78! Most of our blending will be in the sky in today's painting to get the perfect gradient from orange to blue with added clouds. Take your time getting the blends in the sky just right since most of the details are layered over once dry. For the lavender field, if you focus on perspective, keeping everything smaller toward the vanishing point and more details toward the bottom of the paper, it will look great! Remember that the greenery is more visible on the sides as we look left to right and is more textured toward the front, and tiny dots as we get to the vanishing point. I can't wait to see how you do with this one. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Paper: arches 140 lb cotton 9X12" paper that I've cut into 3X3" pieces, giving me 12 pieces per page.

Paint: For this project I am using a split primary palette. All colors are Winsor and Newton, except the manganese is Holbein - cad yellow deep, lemon yellow, cad red, perm. rose, ultramarine blue, manganese, indigo and sap green. The colors I'm using today are - lemon yellow, perm. rose, manganese (by Holbein), sap green and ultramarine blue.

Brushes: round 4 - Princeton

Beautiful Kristin. Reminds me of the tulip fields. I really need to catch up again.

Just watched this through and Kristin it’s fantastic! I’m only behind by one tiny painting now (but lots of “lives”) so it’ll be soon!

I am behind and trying to figure out how to put work and comments in the “chat”!

I really need a full course in “splatter”! I think I made my initial layer too yellow. Then splatter of the masking fluid went so wrong. Now it looks like I blew chunky cheese whiz thru a straw! 🤣 So much to learn!
