Ok full fan boy moment. I have paused the epp. to post this. I never do that. But the scene between Callopie and Syra honestly gave me goosebumps. Half way through I remembered that this is improvised story telling! I was completely lost in the scene. Brian did an awesome job of framing the scene but then Emily just flew. Brian catches up for Emily to soar again. I swear I can hear the surprise and admiration in his voice whenever Emily made a brilliant move and then his doubling down and meeting her to provide that brilliant framework and to provide surprises of his own. It was like watching two brilliant soloists playing off each other. Bravo. Sorry for gushing.

I normally don’t like to nitpick/rules lawyer like this, but I don’t think Sol should have taken 40 fire damage from a single fireball. Evasion grants immunity to the damage from the dex save on a success, but ALSO grants half damage even on a failure. 40 is pretty high for a fireball, so I’m assuming Murph either rolled well or upcasted it, but Sol should have taken 20 fire damage *at most.* Fantastic episode though lol

SO, SO dope to see Sol finally have his Hour of Reaping moment with such awesome effect!! It’s such a great monk ability that I’ve seen get overlooked a lot in home games

First half of the ep was pretty awesome storytelling amazingly atmospheric, second half was an utterly astonishing example of the magic that comes from letting the dice drive events. Feel slightly bad for murph who probably has to torch a couple of future episodes with of preparation, but this was an all time great episode, imo, and such a great advert for role-playing as a means if creative storytelling.

Yeah I thought about this too, he mentioned in short rest that he didn't have the spell up because he wasn't expecting them to be able to get out so I reckon he just didn't realize that (unless I missed him saying he didn't do it on purpose). But hey that's DND, plus force cage is so powerful already that I think it's pretty fair as is. The escape definitely felt earned to me, especially with the 6 fireballs
