MagicCon Amsterdam, Day 2 (Patreon)
Content
My second day at MagicCon Amsterdam was awesome. It started off with catching up with some friends and then playing some Commander in the Command Zone area. It's nice to play against people you don't know sometimes to learn about Magic players from other areas of the world. You can get so used to just playing with your usual play group, it's good to get a reset that there are lots of ways to play and styles to interact (especially when you do a comic about Magic!)
I of course picked up more cards, including these basic lands I might be using in a Premodern deck I'm thinking of building. This was the only copy of this island I saw on the show floor, so I was super happy to grab it!
I picked up this Magic magazine from Cal Jones.
Making more physical media on Magic like this is such a fun idea. It really brings me back to the days of The Duelest and Scrye magazine. It also reminds me that I'm really behind on Cardboard Crack books 😅
Most of the rest of the day was taken up by my Meet & Greet. It was supposed to start at 5, but started quite a bit earlier so our very own Morten here on Patreon could say hi before he ran off for his LRR event. But then people saw me and started asking for more signatures, so I just started doing it. Everyone who came by was so nice, and thoughtful, and just amazing to talk to. I can't tell you how much I appreciated it. I probably said it a lot of times, but doing comics can be pretty lonely, drawing by yourself late at night. So to have all these real live people telling me that they actually read this stuff meant so much to me and was so invigorating for me to want to get back to drawing more! I especially appreciated everyone on Patreon who came by. It was so fun to put faces with the names I've been seeing over and over on here.
My only regret is that I get so excited to talk to people that I forget to take any pictures. So if you have any pictures you took, especially if I look decent in them, please send them my way. I would love to have them for the memories!
Only one more day to go!
