The character in the wheelchair is Elphaba‘s sister, Narcissa or something like that. Elphaba is only allowed to go to school to keep an eye on her sister if remember correctly. Also the love interest, Fiero, is a student.

ariana’s acting is something so overlooked cause of her popstar status i think people forget that she started out as an actress 😭 she has great comedic timing and her character cat valentine from victorious is so unlike her which showed me she can definitely take on a character different from herself and make it believable

Dropped everything to come see your thoughts on this trailer! I am so excited (and nervous) for this. Adaptations are hard, and as much as it is reassuring to hear that the creative team loves this musical and want to do a good job, I know from experience (most recently, the ATLA adaptation) that sometimes that passion isn't enough. So I'm cautiously optimistic. Have to say, I also was doubtful that Ariana was the best choice for Glinda. I have no doubts she can sing the material, I don't doubt that she can pull off Act 1 "Galinda", but I haven't seen her do anything as difficult as NOMTW for example - the visceral sadness while desperately trying to put on a mask to cover it, and then her real emotions pouring out anyway. Not that she can't do it, and I will be so happy for her to have this chance to really put her acting chops at work and show off some amazing talent.

People forget that Arianna started as a Broadway actress at 13 years old. I actually was more sure of Arianna’s casting than Cynthia. And I’m not even an Ari fan, per se. i just think she embodies galinda. I knew Cynthia could sing her ass off but I was worried about her coming off too mature (not necessarily looks but energy wise) next to Arianna cause Arianna reads super young. But I’m pleasantly surprised by their chemistry and I’m def excited. Also nessarose is Elphabas sister in the wheelchair. She is the witch that Dorthy drops a house on. Fiyaro is the love interest and a student.

help why did I almost start crying at the last shot of the the trailer omg. Wicked has SUCH a special place in my heart as a musical and watching this second trailer I am actually so excited it looks AMAZING. I was skeptical about Cynthia and Ariana at first but seeing more of there acting and a deeper look they both are really embodying the characters and now all I want is to see more. ahhhhh

I'm a hardcore Wicked fan, and I've read the book. But I am still super skeptical of this. I feel like it's just going to be TOO Hollywood, TOO CGI, too overproduced. I don't wanna see any of my favourite songs get cut. I'm not sold on the casting for either of the lead ladies. Cynthia is growing on me but I still don't like the end of Defying Gravity. And even though I know Ariana has done Broadway, I hate her pop music and failure to enunciate in them so I'm very afraid of what these songs are going to sound like. Interestingly I am less worried about her acting than anything. All of that said, I'll still likely see it, but I am nowhere near as optimistic as everyone else.

I’ve seen the trailer like 100 times and it’s still not enough. I’ve been waiting for a Wicked movie since I first saw the show in 2009, I still can’t really believe it’s happening since it’s been in production limbo for sooooo long. The real question is, are you going to see it in theaters or SOMEHOW fight the urge and wait to stream it to react??

This trailer made me CRYYYY. I'm a fan of Wicked for 15+ years now, I know every line by heart and its the musical that got me into the musical world so it has such a special place in my heart. I remember the rumours over the past 10 years that it will be made into a movie, then they didnt, then the rumour started again and so on. It was painful lol I have to admit, I was skeptical about it, about Ariana being casted (I know she has a musical background, but lets be honest she just got casted because of her fame and because her fans will probably watch the movie) but honestly, she looks promising and I also got that she's pulling a Kristin which is great! Absolutely can not wait for it to come out, Imma be watching it sooooo many times in cinema lol

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this, but Ariana and Kristin are actually good friends. When Ariana was a coach on "The Voice U.S." she had Kristin as a mentor. Ariana and Cynthia both performed/sang a song at the 15th Anniversary special of Wicked; It's called "A Very Wicked Halloween: Celebrating 15 Years on Broadway", which was filmed/released in 2018. It was also hosted by Kristin and Idina.

I have been waiting for this since I saw it live in 2015!! it is my all-time favorite musical! I just looked and there will be 2 movies!?! So, Wicked Part Two won't be released until 2025. I'm guessing they will split it into 2 parts based on Act 1 and Act 2 just like in the musical production. I can't decide how I feel about being unable to watch all of it in one sitting, but I am excited it will be long enough to do it justice with the storytelling!

honestly waiting until november feels like nothing because they've been talking about turning this musical into a movie since like 2012 (at least that was the first time i leanred of it) so to see it happening finally after i was MEGA excited in 2012 felt like i waited my whole life for it. I've at least seen the musical live so it didnt suck too badly lol.
