Courteney Cox got married and wanted to make sure they remembered to add her married name so the changed them all as a joke.

I'm really digging those glasses! They look great! I don't recognize those frames.

Hooray for eating stuff lol! I am currently eating Poke at 6 AM lol. Tis my go-to comfort food. Soooo glad that you are on the mend! <3 Lol I had the same thought that Chloe and Erwin did when you watched that episode. All of the stars had their last names change to include the last name of Arquette since Courteney Cox (Monica) got married to David Arquette in June of 1999 and this season aired in September of '99 and she became Cox-Arquette so that was just a cute nod to her new marriage. I must have watched that episode like half a dozen times before i caught that and I only caught it because my dad pointed it out lol. Fun fact, if you didn't already know, Jennifer Aniston/Rachel is the godmother to Courteney's daughter Coco. It really goes to show how close this cast became with each other and it's so wholesome. So according to Google (which means take this with a grain of salt since search results can sometimes be inaccurate) $1500 could have covered a few or a couple months worth of rent for a small two-bedroom apartment in New York depending on the borough since rent in the 90s ranged from roughly $570-$670 per month. To me few means three but I know some people consider two as also being a few so that part depends on the writers. It has been said before that the way they are affording the apartments is that Monica and Rachel are able to afford their apartment because Monica is illegally subletting. The apartment used to be her grandmother's (and I'm assuming as a long-term tenant her rent didn't change much since I have seen that happen with a neighbor I shared a duplex with) and Monica illegally took over the lease when her grandma moved so she and Rachel are able to take care of their rent fairly easily especially now that they both seem to be moving up in their careers. As for Joey and Chandler, Chandler is definitely carrying Joey financially since Chandler has a really good officer job but they are like brothers and Joey is definitely the type of person who would take care of Chandler if the roles were reversed. Their friendship has to be one of my favorite on-screen friendships in any show ever!

This was the most chaotic opening ever. Coming in hot like a fajita is now entering my lexicon

Yes, and that’s why at the end of the episode they clarify Courteney got married by saying “ for Courteney and david who did get married” . Another reactor I watch missed that too. I don’t know how it jumps at me😂😂

Hey Audrey and Weenie - love a Weenie doggo so gorgeous! This episode is great lol the girls being childish and Chandler trying to give Joey money, brilliant - Ross again thinking he so good at a made up game so funny! And yes Joey does need the money though eeek!

Chase

I don't think you noticed but this episode was directed by David Schwimmer. It was the first of ten episodes he directed.

When I did this comment: 🦋✊⏩️2️⃣⏪️✊🦋, I tried to recreate the moment ”fwiends with fwiends” witj the fists bumping together and butterfly hands🤣

I know this is early and you still have a ways to go with this amazing show, but I hope the next comedy show you watch is new girl if you haven't seen it yet.

Ahaha Audrey your energy made me feel right at home. I was vibing right there with you. I’m glad you were feeling well enough to eat and enjoy it! When you said “why would I notice that?” In regard to the intro names/Arquette, I felt that in my soul lol, I too had no idea until I looked at the comments. I enjoyed this episode but definitely had moments of ‘y’all are children.’ And being able to see into each other’s apartments would be an issue for me. We may have been over this but I can’t remember. Why no curtains? Would it ruin the storyline? I’d personally resort to some janky blanket set up even. Also, you got a bad fleeting headache while reading my comment and first, I’m so sorry that’s awful. Second, you brought up a memory that I completely forgot about. Years ago, while doing the deed, having fun and things were about to happen, I got a sudden pain in the back of my head that felt like someone took a hammer to it. It went away pretty quickly and I was like okay, weird but try not to panic. Then it happened a few more times, under the same circumstances. I went to the doctor and got an MRI of my head. Nothing was abnormal and then it never happened again. Still no idea what caused it. Your pain, which I’m truly sorry for, made the memories come flooding back and I couldn’t help but laugh at them lmfao Love me some fwens with fwens ❤️

Turnip Crazy

Lol, at least for me why I noticed the name thing in the credits the first time I watched the show is because I have ADHD, so I tend to notice when something changes.

Turnip Crazy

For me it's because I have ADHD, so any changes especially in an intro song I will tend to notice. When I first watched the show I didn't even know Courtney Cox was married to David Arequette, so I was confused why they did that.

Dana (they/them)

ahaha that sounds like my wife. My particular cocktail of neurospicy includes (but is not limited to) dissociation and multiple thoughts happening at once and fighting for their lives. Sometimes I’m able to grab one or two but other times they all perish and I just wait till they try again lmao. That’s why listening my wife read on the long trip helped me, I think, it pulled my attention enough to keep me focused on driving, if that makes sense. (also those Spatial Audio book things Audrey mentioned sound amazing)

I have never quite seen a friendship like Joey and Chandler’s before. When Joey is faced with living in a place he probably couldn’t afford on his own, I love that Chandler just offers to help him. It’s kind of like that big brother who just wants to see his little brother okay. And I remember that episode where Joey got a movie role in Vegas, then it got canceled, and Chandler was playing that game and said it might not be his big break, and Joey kicked him out of the car. I love that they had that funny moment, but it’s very obvious that Chandler truly believes in him. I think when Joey does become successful, whenever that may be, he’ll look back at that relationship and know Chandler was the one person who never let him believe he couldn’t do it. In today’s world, and even 20 years ago, friendships like that are hard to come by. Those two are brothers through and through, and I love that there’s just this unspoken caretaking connection between them. Those scenes where they’re packing up Rachel are so hilarious to me. Of course Monica is the ever-obsessive OCD version of everything, which I feel like I would be to a huge extent. I need to know where everything is, what box it’s in, and I’d probably want some kind of system that was the most efficient. Then there’s the other side of me that, when I’m extremely tired and just over it, would probably start throwing things into boxes. Sometimes I get to a point where I’m extremely OCD until I’m not, and then I get so tired that I just start throwing things wherever because I’m tired of my OCD alter ego trying to rule my life. 😆 But the pettiness between Rachel and Monica over hiding a candlestick that neither of them actually care about, just because of that little sisterly competition between them, is so funny to me. I feel like all women have that tiny bit of pettiness where you’ll fight over something you don’t actually care about or get your feelings hurt over something that really doesn’t matter. It’s so real. But at the end of the day, watching them hug when Rachel gives back her key and officially moves out is so sweet. Because yeah, even though they still see each other all the time, for six years it was Rachel and Monica’s apartment, and that’s a huge change. Ross making a fake Ben is hilarious to me. As a woman, when I think of that plan, I’m like, okay, we have to move him at least every two minutes, move his hat, change his pose a little so this all looks realistic. And Ross is like, “I’m gonna leave this pumpkin human I created on the couch in the same position for two hours and expect a bunch of women, especially Monica, not to realize it’s fake.” I love how men will do anything to get out of something, but when it comes to actually executing the plan, it’s like their brain just fries. 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️🥴

Omg I did not mean to cause caos 🤣
