Friends first aired when I was 3 but I'm sure I started watching it when I was 10/11 as I was already very attached by the time the final episode aired in 2004

Jennifer Lawrence

I was a teenager when I first started watching it with my mom. Unsure what season was airing at that time. I'm still surprised she let me watch it, lol. I'm sure there was a lot of sexual jokes that she was hoping went over my head. Then I was out of highschool by the time the series ended. It was interesting rewatching it over the years. Especially as I got to be closer to their ages. Perspectives changed and I could relate to things a lot more. Now at 40 it's getting harder to remember being in my 20s lol. Though it feels like I'm still figuring some things out in life as I was then

I think there have always been reruns on TV that I’ve caught. But I want to say I started watching friends when it first came to Netflix when I was maybe in middle school. I don’t think I ever fully finished it. I think I got to the last season and burnt out. So I’m actually kind of excited to rewatch these episodes with you because I haven’t re-watched them since middle school. And now I am a full grown adult 😂 also once we get deeper in the show there are def more serious moments however it never strays from the sitcom format and having a bunch of good laughs. I think you’ll see that phoebe is actually super complex. She’s def my favorite character.

Miguel Candeias

I started watching Friends during the pandemic. i was 23 years old. I am 27 right now. I love that fact that you are watching both of my favourite shows of all time: Friends and Once Upon a Time. Thank you Audrey! Im a super fan from Portugal and I just love feeling your company watching this.

Leslie Montalvo

Well I wanna say that I’ve been watching it since I was born in 2002 cause and my mom would watch religiously the she got the DVD box, so over the years I tried to watch it but I wasn’t technically allowed (same with Sex and the City) but I distinctly remember coming out of my room and hiding behind the couch to watch the shows. But my first genuine watch through was when I was 16 and I’ve seen it to completion about 4 times since

Alicia

I started watching friends when I was 5. I had severe anxiety and couldn't make friends easily. These 6 were my friends. Of course, moat of the adult jokes went over my head at the time, but I laughed at the silliness. It calmed me down, it was always there, THEY were always there. I truly don't know what I would have done without it. As you continue to watch the series, it’s just going to get better and better. You are still learning the characters so much, and a lot of season one is like that. However, you are going to get so attached to them. I have never heard so many people say so definitively that this is one of the best shows ever created. The amount of love, and that the show has around the world is nothing like I’ve ever seen. There’s a lot of good shows that exist, and even if I had never seen Friends, I couldn't deny that it’s one of the shows that you hear the most about. I will stand by that, no matter what. I think it would be really fun for you to watch the reunion at some point too that they filmed during the pandemic. I think you will have so much fun watching this. 💜❤️💜❤️

Tara Crothers

I started watching in 1999. I was 21.

Jewlee Nelson

I watched it in real time! I was 17 and a freshman in college! My roommates and I watched it every Thursday night and it was our bonding time!

Savvy

I watched it for the first time only a few years ago. I was 23. I loved how I met your mother, so decided to try it haha.

Lydia Shepard

I started watching in the summer of 2002 in between the shows 8th and 9th season when it originally aired and would record the episodes since I had choir practice on Thursday nights when it aired. I was 14 years old when I started watching the show. Also didn't answer my favorite character question. My favorite characters are Ross and Rachel I shipped them from day one!!!!!

KyraB

My family watched the NBC must see tv Thursday nights so I saw it when it first came out in 94 and I was 11 about to turn 12 at the time.

Clara Gros-Louis

I was 22! (and now I'm singing Taylor XD "I don't know about you, but I'm feeling 22! XD) [and it was 11 years ago]

beth

18... so it started when I was starting college and they were in that next phase a few years post-college. (They were playing young 20s but I think their real ages were closer to 30.) The thing you said at the end about recognizing that Phoebe's trauma is basically used as a punchline (laughing through trauma) epitomizes late-Gen X. 😉 😂 😭

Madeline Jensen

I'm not sure how old I was when I first sat down to watch it, but I'd say at least middle school. I was born in 2001, so I have grown up knowing what it was and some of the catchphrases, but until now (22 years old) never really sat down and watched each episode in order. I have seen a good amount of the episodes, but all out of order, and at random times.

Jenn

I was 13! It premiered in September of 1994 and I would turn 14 in November of that year. I’ve been there since the beginning! Still one of my all time favorite shows!

Jeanette Dawe

I started watching when I was in middle school, I found my sister had all the dvds and I sat and watched every single episode and was hooked. I am now 30 and I still rewatch like it is my first time watching lol It is my comfort show for sure.

Jianna

I probably started watching when I was around 10/11 years old so 2012ish, nickelodeon would show reruns at 11pm and I would sneak my tv on to watch it

Jill

I watched it when it premiered, so I was 25 and in grad school. It was a nice stress reliever. I graduated in 1995 and moved to Germany and watched it in German there until I moved back in 2001 and continued it to the end. I also used to own videocassettes that I ordered from Great Britain and was able to enjoy them in English. Fun fact: the pillow falling off the balcony wasn't in the script. That wasn't really supposed to happen, but they left it in anyway. The guy returning the pillow was a random crew member, and Matt's look of confusion was real. It wasn't planned at all - just thrown in for laughs during taping :-) George Stephanopoulos was definitely considered a hottie back in the day. He's currently is a co-anchor with Robin Roberts and Michael Strahan on Good Morning America. And sorry to tell you, you will never see the nurse again.

Alex Rogner

27 the age I am now. This my first time watching

megan vickers

I 1000% relate to the girls in this ep i dont have a pl either haha

Tanya

High school. About 15 I think 🤔

Sebastian Sawyer

It was either late teens or early twenties when I first watched the show

Alicia

I started when I was 18 in college, I collected all the DVD box sets and then was able watch the final season live in 2004 when it ended.

Melody L.

Since I started with you! I started it at 39 :)

Kristal Whalen

I always forget that some of the things I remember from episodes are scenes on the extended versions like when the girls talk about the guys on the balcony and was very sad that it wasn’t in this episode

Samantha Ubaldo

I was like 9-10 years old I think. So late 90s. It ended in 2004 when I was 14.

Linda

Love me some friends!!

Alex Foster

I know it came out when i was very young. I didnt start watching it til i was at least 10 so around 2000 or 2001 sometime.

Sarah Aguilar

I started watching Friends when it first aired. So I was 12. And I watched it til the very end. Friends got me through college and a really bad breakup. It's my all time fav show (besides Glee :)) I'm glad that I'm rewatching it again with you, It's like I'm experiencing it again but through your eyes!!

Samir

I started watching it when I was 16! Now I’m almost 28 and guess what?! I learned English watching friends! I used to imagine myself in the scenes and that’s how I practiced English 😂 I owe them a lot 😅😅

Sophie R

I started watching it at 16, when you started the watch parties. I actually also had my birthday recently tho so I’m 17 now.

Erwin 𐚁

I don't remember a time I didn't want Friends. It would come on Thursday nights on NBC!!! I was 14 when the finale aired and it felt like the END OF AN ERA for sure. It will probably remain my all time favorite show.

Heida

Fun fact: Rachel knocking her pillow over the edge on the balcony wasn't supposed to happen but they left it in anyway. Not so fun fact: In 2002, the National Hockey League added protective nets at all arenas in order to prevent injuries similar to Ross's. This came after a 13-year-old girl was struck by a puck and died two days later due to a ruptured brain artery. I started watching the show in one of the later seasons when it first aired so I was probably around 8-10 (I was 11 when the finale aired in 2004). I didn't watch the show from the beginning until a few years later. I am actually that old that I remember renting it on VHS!

Heida

Happy belated birthday!

Annie Willow

I remember it being on during dinner during high school because we moved to a house that was more open plan so my parents could see the tv from the kitchen table. By that point the show had been on for a few years and I hate jumping into a show in the middle of a series so I purposefully ignored it during dinner. Once I was able to take the time to catch up the the current season at the time (season 8) I was a freshman in college. I’m very glad I was up to date then because everyone in my dorm watched it every week.

Kenyatta (KD) Smith

I was 18/19 (2008). I had just gotten my first apartment, and I had a little 13" TV with no cable so I only had like 4 channels lol. I found Friends and fell IN LOVE. Then I found out one of my friends at work had all 10 season on DVD so she let me borrow them. Now 16 years later, I have watched all 10 seasons at least a dozen times haha.

Claire

I remember watching the last episode 'live' when it came out when I was 11. I had definitely been watching for a few years at that point so I was probably 8 or 9 the first time I started watching. I think I'd seen reruns of the previous seasons, but started watching properly around season 7

Brianna Washington

I first really got into Friends and watched it all the way through when I was around 14 I think. That was 2016 and it was on Netflix so I just kinda binged it and it's become one of my favorite shows!

Bex

I am watching it for the first time in the entirety with you. I have seen an episode here and there. So I can’t exactly say what age for that because I don’t feel like I know anything about the show.

Jenny D

I started watching episode 5 and realized I never answered this question 🤣 I weirdly have a very specific memory of my mom watching the final episode when I was like 12. She never really watched Friends, but it was like a cultural moment for everyone to watch the end of an era lmao I didn't watch it all the way through until my last year in college in 2012. And then I watched it again in like 2017 or 2018. Now I'm 32 and am having so much fun watching it again here with you ❤️💛💙

Tiffany Torres

i just turned 26 in January, and i want to say i watched it at a young age (not exactly sure). i was introduced to it by my aunt and older cousin.

Lady RedShee

I was 17 when I first started REALLY watching the show. I had seen bits and pieces before that but never paid too much attention. When I finished high school I took a year off before going to college so I got to watch some of the shows that I had missed before. That was also the same year I finally finished watching all of Buffy and Angel lol. Hard to believe that was over ten years ago, time really flies!

Bradley Truitt

i love these watch parties!! i started watching around middle school and it has been one of my fav shows since. i would always see it at night on nickelodeon and ive grown to love it even more now that im older

leaszn

i’ve watched friends all my life, i’m 21 but actually binging and understanding it probably 19-20

Kamya Walker

I was 18 when I first started watching Friends

PS

I was 8

Kaydee Bernal

I was 25 in 2019 when I started watching it.

Anne van de Plasse

I was about 15 or 16. And now i am 28 so a while ago

Britain Hanna

Started watching just over 20 years ago in middle school, just turnt 33. Didn’t become a regular viewer until 8th grade. My math teacher looks just like Jennifer Aniston, seriously they could be sisters, and she mentioned watching it a lot. I haven’t watch regularly in a while and I’m thoroughly enjoying watching it again with you

Mary

I watched it when it came out in 1994. I was 17 or 18. I was a Sr in high school.

Tara Cabache

I started watching Friends from a second-hand VHS in about 2006 (probably) when I was 11/12. It only had the first 4 episodes, but my brother and I wore that VHS OUT!

Victoria Wilburn

I started watching with my sister in 2013-2014 so I was about 9 to 10 and my sister was 14 to 15

Azure R.

I started watching when I was 9 or 10, so that was 2009-2010. I was born in 2000.

Tal Mandelbaum

I think i was 13 or 14 and I fell in love

Jennifer Sauer

I know I'm late to the party, but I want to answer the questions sometimes too! "When did you start watching Friends?" I was born in 1998, and I have literally watched a VHS tape of my twin brother and I (I'm cis-female) bouncing up and down in our rolling/standing chairs... you know those ones with the little table of toys that wraps all the way around you? And has the baby swing leg-holes? ... Anyway, in the VHS tape, my brother and I were bopping around in those chairs as literal babies, and behind us is one of those wooden cabinets with the doors that can hide your TV. On the TV, was Friends during the theme song. So we've been jamming to this show our ENTIRE lives, haha.

iEffinLoveBacon

I've been watching since it came out and I'm 39 right now. So I think I was like 7? I used my babysitting money to buy the entire boxset series on DVD when it came out after the series finished! I was so sad when it ended!! I've rewatched it too many times to count. I binge the whole series at least yearly.

Emiy Ross

Been watching from the beginning. I was 22 in 1994. At the time it felt like I was going through my 20s with them.
