Hi Everyone! This design is another that got me a little out of my comfort zone (requiring a bit of consulting from Nick as well as some constructive feedback from our amazing group of testers!!) From early on I knew I wanted to combine flexi and clicky parts in some of my models and this was the perfect excuse to do that! I initially came up with the idea for this model as a 'back to school' themed release! I thought these would be super fun to customize as names or initials and throw on a backpack! This model includes all 26 letters in the English Alphabet, the numbers 0-9 and a handful of symbols! We also included bases varying in length from 1 to 16 characters, making them easily customizable! I hope you enjoy these flexi script chains! 🔗

Please let me know if I'm missing any special characters for international names or any other symbols you would like to see!

08-31-24: Added a blank cap for custom symbols

Script Chain MEGA-Pack can be found HERE!

Like most of my designs, this is a clicky design that requires a mechanical keyboard switch to make the clicky part. These models have been tested with Kailh Bronze, White, Jade and White V2 clickers and the White clickers are my preferred option. I have an up to date list of verified clickers with links you can find HERE. This design should be compatible with most MX style keyboard switches, however, the two metal contacts on the bottom of the switch must be clipped off flush (or folded over) to ensure the switch seats properly in the base (this is a destructive process).  A 1 inch diameter binder keyring is available which also allows a bead-chain to be used!

There are 80 unique caps and 16 unique bases in this pack! Each base comes with only the 1in diameter binder keyring hole which also works for bead-chains. There are both flat and 3D caps available for these clickers. The 3D caps can easily be printed on a single extruder printer with a single color change!

3D Printing Settings:

Layer Height: 0.2mm (recommended)

External Perimeter (Outer Wall): 0.33mm (recommended)

Scale: 100% (Everything is modeled with tight tolerances and should not need to be resized)

Orientation: Print the caps face down so you have a smooth surface for clicking! (recommended for flat)

NOTE: I've found the best way to get the most crisp details on these clickers is to start with the smallest details first and work up from there. Here is the order I recommend after LOTS of trial and error:

Small Detail (text)

Everything else (base colors)

I've also found hitting the print with a heat gun right before the main body color starts printing will eliminate any little strings that can cause blemishes on the final design.

⚠️WARNING⚠️ - This pack requires very good bed adhesion to ensure the best possible results for your finished clicker. It is recommended to clean your bed with soap and water before printing or whatever your specific printer manufacturer recommends for a deep bed clean!

Stay Pawsitive! 🐾

These are awesome, thank you!!!!!!!

Pawpular Prints

So happy you like them! Figured they would be a lot of fun to customize!

Pawpular Prints

Those are 1” binder rings! We use those for the turtles as well! If you do an Amazon search for those plenty of options should pop up! Here is one link: https://a.co/d/cqGsJb5 Bead chains would also work with these, which we’ll use sometimes too!

Beth C. Yacoub

Hello! Quick question, what infill pattern would you suggest for these?

Pawpular Prints

Any infill pattern should work fine! I use the default Grid, 15% in Prusa Slicer and I've never had a problem!

Mike Sprague

Be cool to do a second version of this, but round with an old school typewriter font.

Jennifer

I love these and have made a bunch. Is there any way to fill in the holes if I don't want to attach a key ring?

Pawpular Prints

Hi Jennifer, Unfortunately I did not save a version without the keychain hole on this one and the files were actually almost too big to upload on Patreon as is because it was so big.

Jaime Williams

Do you have a blank symbol button one where we would be able to add our own design button to the clicker instead of one of the pre-designed 4 you have available?

Pawpular Prints

Hi Jamie! I have just uploaded a blank cap to the files. Just download the zip file again! Hope this helps!

Cheryl H

These are great! Do you have a tutorial for any of your multi-color clickers?

Pawpular Prints

Hi Cheryl! What type of tutorial are you thinking of? We have a few basic tutorials on our discord that show how to paint these (specifically in bambu). We have talked about doing additional tutorials but would be great to know what you’d like to see and maybe specific printers and slicers you’d like to see them for?

Cheryl H

I would love to see a tutorial for PrusaSlicer or Cura! A really basic or general how to would be really helpful. Something to get a newbie started.

Pawpular Prints

Good to know! We’ll definitely see what we can do! If you’re not on our discord yet, you should join (there is a link on our discord announcement post)! It can be a great resource for info on a variety of printers and slicers and best print settings for these!

Rosie

Loving these so much! Would love to see a base that is connected together at the ends to make a circle.

Antoinette Fox

These are so cute! Do you have files for rectangle ones with keys or squares? Like a rectangle with two or three clickers or a square with 4 clickers? Hope this makes sense

James Hopkins III

These are awesome like all of your other clickers. I wish they were infinitely connectable so customers could "build" their name on the fly at an event instead of me having to preprint various lengths in whatever colors I want to offer.

Pawpular Prints

Huh! Interesting idea! We’ll have to think on if there is a way to do a build your own! My only concern would be maintaining the durability, but definitely something to consider! Thanks for the suggestion!

Fusion3D

I agree about the durability. The links would snap open

LEE ULLAH

these are good is it me or is there gap with the button and base when clicker is i use these clickers for the rest like turtles and dog and cat paw are they different sizes for the letter chain

Pawpular Prints

These have the old base design so if you are using CherryMX or Gateron switches, they won't sit all the way down. Kailh switches will fit all the way down on the old bases. I'm currently working on updating the older bases with the new base and hope to have that done in the next couple of months!

duc nguyen

Can you help me with the text settings to customize a blank keycap in Bambu Studio to look like your keycaps?

Pawpular Prints

Hi Duc, What do you need help with? The text is Arial Rounded Bold and can be added into the slicer. Bambu and Prusa is the easiest to add it in, Orca was kinda weird and I never figured it out

Mayang SAgustin

Hello, I am looking forward for the new base update that will fit CherryMx switches.

Pawpular Prints

This one is coming up on the list of updates! So soon! I’d guess in the next 2 weeks it will be updated!

Lisa

Hi all, I’m struggling with little gaps in the letters, mainly E and A I have changed my initial layer to 0.42 but it hasn’t helped - any other suggestions? I’m using a Bambu A1

Pawpular Prints

Try an initial layer width of 0.35mm, check the box for single outline on first layer and you can try changing the first layer infill pattern to concentric

esmarie

Hiii, I wanna seek help on how to put symbol of coffee cup on the blank cap. I'm a coffee lover and would love to put that beside my nickname. Any advise or if you know a tutorial would really be helpful Thank you

Pawpular Prints

It really depends on the slicer you are using but a lot of them allow for using SVGs, so you can slap your own image on to a flat clicker!

esmarie

Oh, I will check it out thank you ☺️

Gen b

is there a way to combine this with the jazzy clicker? so we can use the caps interchangeably?

Pawpular Prints

Um not really cuz they are different shapes. Are you wanting to use the hexagons on the squares or the squares on the hexagons?

Gen b

i actually have printed a few squares and think this script chain is cool too...but then i have to print another set of caps since the square ones wont fit... if the square has an articulated version, that would be perfect :D

Brentley

When I open the downloaded file it shows the cap and color all one color. I tried to use the paint tool to change the color of the letter and it isn’t working. Is there another way to have the letter a different color from the cap portion?
