So.... still no definitive answers about Genya other than he can regenerate everything but his head 🤔 The flashback didn't give us any answers from that perspective either... too many questions!!!

Is it just me or are the reaction timings a little off towards the beginning?

The brothers saying we have to protect mom and siblings was a flashback before the mom turned Demon in the flashback lol.

First time viewer I hope Genya's okay and I hope he does have regenerative powers because I don't want him to die 😭 Also I think Adam's right, I think that flashback that he had before he was "about to die" was his last happy memory with his brother, and not something that happened after their mother killed their siblings and died. Genya reminds me of both Inosuke and Zenitsu. Personality-wise def more on the Inosuke side. I thought it was so cute that when Tanjiro cheered him on for his goal to become a Hashira, he felt happy just like when Inosuke has his little happiness bubbles. He reminds me of Zenitsu in the way that Zenitsu is only able to do the first form of his breathing, though he was able to master it completely. Genya seems similar since he said he was never able to master breathing. I guess his gun is kind of like Lady Kocho's poison blade since she isn't strong enough to handle a regular sword (as I understood it), so they both learned how to defeat demons in their own ways. Lady Kocho's a hashira, so to me, that means there's definitely hope for becoming a strong demon slayer, even if you aren't strong in a traditional sense.

You have to look at this from Sanemi's perspective: His mother was the kindest, purest being he knew. She protected him and his siblings from his father many times and took care of them. But even she did not hesitate before killing the same children she used to protect when she became a demon. If a mother as kind, caring, peaceful, loving and pure as her became a mindless monster, then how can he believe some random boy saying his sister will never harm humans? And if he were to accept Nezuko, he also would have the guilt of killing his mother. He would keep thinking "What if I restrained her and reached out to her more before killing her. Maybe she could have been under control like Nezuko too." This can go very deep the more you think about it, but I believe his hatred towards Nezuko at that moment was more because of his trauma and guilt, and less because of Nezuko herself. P.S. - This episode was released on Mother's Day Additionally, Genya and Sanemi were just kids when their family died. Sanemi was not part of the Demon Slayer Corps at that point so he had no training whatsoever. He joined the Corps after this incident and Genya followed in his footsteps when he grew up.

Genya can't use breathing techniques so it explains his unorthodox style of fighting a little bit :)

oh my god what u said abt sanemi's rejection of nezuko + his trauma and guilt for killing his demon mother. i never rly connected the dots and now i feel 100x more miserable.... ON MOTHERS DAY TOO???? they love to see us suffer

This is a spoiler for them. His inability to do something is not revealed until season 4.

Genya mentioned in this episode that he can’t use any breathing techniques (when he thought he was going to be killed) so it’s not a spoiler

Them saying they would protect their mother and siblings was basically a flashback within a flashback 😅 Kid Genya was just remembering the promise they had made before everything when to 💩
