Jumps in the second half of a program get a +10% bonus to their base value. Scores for jumps are based on the (adjusted) base value combined with a (positive or negative) grade of execution.

Alex Chen

You get higher difficulty scores if it’s at the later parts of the program.

In case of confusion, Yurio complained to himself he wanted it to end because he was really tired. As Takeshi mentioned, Yuri has a lot of stamina. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. This is one of my favourite animes and one I rewatch almost religiously.

The triple axel (3A) has a base value of 8.0, the quad salchow (4S) is 9.7, quad toeloop (4T) is 9.5 and the triple toeloop (3T) is 4.2. Since Yuri does all of them in his second half, that gives him 8.8, 10.6, 9.4, 4.6, meaning an added 3 points. Since it's not uncommon for final rankings to be within a few points of each other, or even less than a point, those extra 3 points are significant. (As long as getting tired from a long program doesn't make those jumps worse, because then you might lose the advantage of the higher base value against a lower grade of execution.)

I am living for these reactions, I think most people who react to Yuri on ice aren't as tuned into the sports side of it and it's refreshing to see someone go in depth with that!

Adam Schulz

Ahh we was wondering that. Thanks for the info.

I wish I could travel to the future when you guys have finished watching it and binge watch your reactions lol 😭 I love this show so much it's so hard to keep from going and watching the next episode after ive finished one of your reactions but I wanna stay fresh!!!

Also a thing I love about you guys is how appreciative you are of the difficulty of animating things, but particularly in this case because when this was airing a lot of people were talking crap about the animation 🫠 but they did so well within the constraints of an original series!!
