Haiji being vulnerable with Kakeru is a low key great scene. It subtly shows that Haiji has grown as much as anyone on the team. We/the team see him as perfect. But he has been in an unhealthy level of total control from before we/Kakeru even entered the picture for YEARS. His sole-control and lack of sharing the burden/plan or leaning on his teammates leads to his physical collapse. That collapse alone could've jeopardized the whole thing. While his iron will, and crazy fortitude was the only thing keeping the team alive at times, it also created issues and friction in moments he could've relaxed the iron grip. Admitting a persistent self doubt and asking Kakeru for his opinion must've been harder than we think. Kakeru has not been exactly...diplomatic when faced with emotional situations in the past. It's hard/scary to put yourself in a situation like that, especially when you've felt you need to be the one behind the wheel and never show doubt. Kakeru gives the perfect response by being 100% honest, but also gives the perfect words.
