Adam's reaction to the underhand serve 😂 😂 😂

He was also expecting to see like 5 points and have a nice drawn-out match like the season 2 Seijoh match. Welcome to Season 4, baby!! We've got bigger fish to fry!

It's always funny watching an underhand serve work. I get it doesn't work at the higher levels but for casual pickup and stuff like that, you'd be amazed. 😆

I take my lunch breaks at 2 now so I can catch the video drop. It’s my motivation throughout the work week. Thank you guys 🥹

VA info: Atsumu Miya is voiced by the phenomenal Mamoru Miyano who also voiced Light Yagami from Death Note.

hahaha the combination of Adam’s shock and Sarah’s eyebrow raises is just 🤌 such a fun episode!

Oh gosh they need to watch Boukyaku Battery to continue Mamoru Miyano memes 😂. You really get to see his range in that role (some of his singing skills too). He voices the mc and his dynamic with Kenma’s VA Yuki Kaji’s character in the show is hilarious. I actually have a funny memory from my trip to Japan last year where a Japanese High school baseball player I met performed Kaname’s PAIGE for me when I told him I enjoyed the series 😂. I saw someone do this IRL lmao: https://youtube.com/shorts/gS0x6bPxxKQ?si=pdLY8WLOzIsqe24V

omg i scheduled sarah's releases on my weekly calendar so i get to have something to look forward to almost every day LOL

So in middle school I joined the girls volleyball club (I live in indonesia, and i was only in the club for a year and I never played volleyball again) we were 12-13 years old and for some reason the serve that we were taught and had to practice a lot was the underhand serve but never any other type of serves. Fast forward, watching this episode of Haikyuu as an adult I noticed how rare underhand serve is. Is it more common in south east Asia/Indonesia or is it a youth girl volleyball thing?? i wonder why.

There are actually 50 teams from the 47 prefectures of Japan. The way it works is that 14 teams are seeded into the next round based on previous results so 18 teams are eliminated in the first round and then the round of 32 begins.

From my very limited experience with volleyball as a kid in the US, we were all taught the underhand serve first because it was easier. maybe if you continued playing to a older/high level you would have moved to the overhand?

Adam Schulz

Yes, I would say you generally learn underhand serves around grade 4 and then progress as you get older. Generally the limiting factor on overhand serving is strength and coordination. Definitely by high school anyone who played on a team would be serving overhand.

This is one of my favorite reactions so far. The amount of disbelief from Adam + Sarah's IYKYK look was chef's kiss.

Even more VA info: Mamoru Miyano also voices an upcoming character in Yuri on Ice (not gonna spoil since Sarah and Adam haven't got to that episode yet). He's very prolific and is such a good VA!
