I will never stop being impressed with how Haikyu!! examines even the most nuanced parts of volleyball (and sport in general). The whole concept of the crowd, the tempo of music they are playing, etc., and how that can affect athletes is so spot-on.

This show is the absolute greatest, and my heart is breaking that we are closing in on the end 😭

One of my favorite tidbits from this episode is that the tune that the inarizaki band plays is from Naruto. I recall feeling intense nostalgia when I first watched this episode.

i'm pretty sure it isn't actually blue bird and that the two songs just happen to sound similar

That's so awesome lol

Sarah: Are you crying? Adam(quicker than you can even realize): No This is not the first time this conversation happens but it gets me every time 😂

anazpat

theres like one tear per season so im wondering if there will be one in this season 😂

anazpat

ive watched and rewatched haikyuu way too many times because i just love the characters that much even if im not a sport season, but nothing excites me most in this rewatch as watching you guys getting excited over some particular scenes, it makes me appreciate the show even more!

Shaybay44

Not Adam geeking out about the video analysis... love it 😀 😍 Adam is in heaven with these games.

monika

Also I read that this is the school that Inarizaki was based on/took inspiration from!

Frolaytia

Adam is correct it is sick

This match really IS East vs West - Karasuno from Miyagi (Eastern prefecture) with the traditional taiko drums vs Inarizaki (south-west prefecture) with the Western style brass band. Also, Karasuno = crows = flying animals, Inarizaki = foxes = ground animals

As a libero in high school, I would say if the different serving rhythms were done to me, I would definitely mess up my serve receives lol Also this is different to the number of steps before serving, but sometimes you notice the patterns of servers even during the games, like when they serve from particular places from the sideline and serve to specific places (like if they are standing to the left means they are serving to the left; of course they could stand left and serve to other places if they are good enough but if you can notice any pattern you can use to your advantage)

Would love to hear Adam's thoughts on the inarizaki motto - We Don't Need the Memories!

Scoola

Damn imagine how cool it woud be to see a sports anime about your IRL high school

Esquirebob

Was not expecting a Cool Runnings reference lmao but MAN I just adore and love how much Adam was into this episode. It's so...cathartic? I'm not sure that's the right word but it's so fun to see someone with way more knowledge than me talk about a topic. AND not to say Sarah didn't do the same on her first watch! It's just been a while and I only rewatch a couple of the reaction vids for this season (you know the ones). Anyway, can't wait for more, holy moly this season is so incredible

adam got me so pumped up!!! as a non volleyball player i feel like the extent of me enjoying haikyuu is limited, so seeing people who knows volleyball watching and reacting to haikyuu is always so fun and exciting! and haikyuu getting recognition and praises from volleyball people means so much to me, it makes me feel like im less crazy for liking this anime that much lol

bungi

well i know for sure we're all secretly also questioning "omg is adam crying?" so thanks sarah for voicing out our thoughts hahahhaah

slowchem

he just did, he said "I kind of like we don't need the memories. We're just good all the time."

Judy

THIS!!!

Judy

Omg didn't know the fox reference that's crazy!
