Hi everyone. I found myself in the mood for a bit of Mick Ronson this week, an awesome and somewhat underrated player. His work on Bowie's Aladdin Sane album is particularly good, and this song contains some lovely playing. In the video I take you through all the riffs you can hear in the original recording, as well as talk about some lead guitar options.

Tab can be found below, which includes a transcription of the little solo I play at the start of the video.

And if you want more Ronson, do check out my 2 part lesson on Moonage Daydream in the archives.

Hope you enjoy it!

I'm a huge fan of Mick Ronson's playing and this track, from 1973's Aladdin Sane album, contains some of his best riffs. I also give you some options for soloing. That T-Shirt……if anything has the potential to go viral… Thank you for being such a very big part of starting my guitar endeavours, Five years later I’m actually playing guitar, I am involved in a couple band projects now. The future looks much brighter than I ever imagined. 👍🏻

Awesome choice! great album and lesson, thank

Cheers Adrian, totally agree about Mick Ronson. I can't reach those "Chuck Berry" riffs, but I can still learn so much from this lesson.

Any tips for those of us who can't do the stretch, I'm not even close: ^ (

Hey Adrian! I dont know if this is the right place to ask? Do you have any place to post suggestions? There is a band from Sweden called Ebba Grön. They sound like The Stooges with some Ska sprinkled in some songs. Their most popular one is "Staten och Kapitalen" Other great songs is "800* and "Mamma Pappa Barn" Give them a listen, im sure you'll like it! And maybe do a lesson on one? Keep up the good work! Loved your dissonance and weitdness vid and backing track✌️
