Hi everyone,

This week an epic lesson on Richard Hell's Time. It's a wonderful song that contains some incredible guitar work from one of my all-time favourite players, Robert Quine.

In the video, I break down the two Quine solos you hear on the single version of the tune, and also take a detailed look at the rhythm guitar parts. The song also works really well if you just want to strum through the chords in a more basic way.

Hope you enjoy it. Everything is tabbed out below. I'm going to put the backing track down there too, rather than in a separate post, as it seems to make sense to keep everything together in the same place. (It didn't seem possible to do that previously.) Oh, and there are two versions of the backing: one is just drums and bass, the other contains the rhythm guitars as well.

Hope you all have a good weekend,

Adrian

Yes!! Thank you, Adrian. Robert Quine is a true hero. I suggested a Time lesson in one of the comment sections somewhere along the way (about a year ago), so I feel a modicum of responsibility for this. ;) Thanks for lending your instructional brilliance to this masterpiece, Adrian!

Love it! Would you consider the single version of The Kid with the Replaceable Head? I love Quine's solos on that one.

Wasn't familiar with Quine Hell, but this awesome. Amazing track and lesson!

Quine's music is not familiar to me (or the sound is but the name isn't) but will look into it. Thanks for the lesson.

I was not able to find it on the YouTubes recently, but there used to be a live "Waves of Fear" in which I believe that Quine almost *literally* murdered a guitar. I mean, every version with him is pretty great. But this one was so violent; I'm not sure I've fully recovered, even years later.

Quine = God. Eric Clapton = toilet.
