Hi everyone. I have a new video for you today. Apologies for the clickbait-y title, but I do hope this video delivers with some useful and easy to implement soloing tips.

Tab and backing can be found below. I've tabbed out my introductory solo as well as most of the examples from the video.

I've also made an extra video with a bit of bonus material just for the Patreon page - I'll post that here tomorrow.

Hope you like it; hope you all have a great weekend.

Awesome solo. Thanks Adrian!

Jeff Lynch

Appreciate this very much. Thanks Adrian!

Thanks very much for this lesson. I am in the midst of your triad course and thank you for that also. As a suggestion, I could use help with "connecting the chords" in my solo efforts. I run out of ideas pretty quickly then start sounding like a guy playing scales. Just a thought for a future endeavor.

Excellent tips. While you do have to wrestle the YT space, I wanted to say that I have always appreciated the light "anti-establishment" voice of the channel and I appreciate even more the way to frame your teaching and videos through encouragement and diverse approaches to music and style. I've recently seen some videos that amounted to a kind of petty guitar snobbery try to drive "engagement" or sell a product and you have never stooped to such folly. Thank you for your focus and voice--it means the channel is vital and never banal.

Lots to digest and practice in this lesson Adrian. Thank you. In particular my muting sucks, particularly when playing with higher gain settings - that really shows up my deficiencies! BTW there are no wrong notes, just notes from a different song :-)

Killian King

I always think of clickbait as something that doesn't actually deliver the goods. You needn't fear that my friend.

Sparkles

Another great lesson, many thanks Adrian.

Tony Brown

Thanks Adrian. Lots for me to start to work on.

Thanks Adrian - always love your lessons and courses - this lesson has lots for me to ponder. Recently I heard someone explaining how they approach soloing by saying phrases and using this as the vehicle to give the rhythm to the phrasing of their musical note choices. They would then try to link it these phrases together in a type of story or commentary. I’ve been trying it and I think it has some merit - but I probably need to be more confident of suitable note choices first otherwise it’s too much cognitive overload. I’ll focus on your tricks and see if I can work my way through it.

Great solo and lesson ,as ever, and how do I get that tone on my tele?

I do enjoy these practical lessons. Never hurts to get the basics back in your practice. Thank you from the Netherlands.

To comment on my comment, I re-discovered the beginners solo course right here on the APG Patreon page, which probably will help me "connect the chords". I signed up for that course today.

This is a very good lesson. Okay theres not a bad one I’ve seen on here , but this one has a lot of valuable advice.

Hope you enjoy the course Stephen. I think both the solos course and the later sections of the triads course should help with this. At some point I may try and do a proper chord tone soloing/playing the chord changes kind course and explore this subject really thoroughly.
