Hi all!

There was no video yesterday since I was busy playing a country gig (more on that next week), so I thought I'd launch the new lesson today instead.

This one is a surf classic that I've been meaning to get round to for quite some time. I think this is one of my favourite surf tunes to play. It's all tabbed out below. I've included a little solo that I didn't end up playing in the video which works instead of the sax solo you hear on the original.

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

"I think we should be leaving". "That's probably a good idea."

Great lesson Adrian! There are a lot of very good riffs.l in the tune. The way you count is very helpful. Thank you very much!

I meant country - will edit! Yes part of the C2C festival, playing today too.

Yes! Another classic surf track for me to learn. Thank you very much! And since we're talking about surf I would like to shamelessly use this opportunity to request a lesson - or set of lessons - on a less know, but truly epic, surf tune to give Misirlou a run for its money: 'Intruder' by the Surf Coasters from Japan. It's not only incredibly intense and technically demanding, it also uses probably every typical surf guitar technique there is. (I have tried to figure out what goes on in, but failed miserably.) Here's the recorded version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6k3yMMWPW4&list=RDq6k3yMMWPW4&start_radio=1 Here's a live version with an extended intro: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u16mCaIq5cQ&list=RDu16mCaIq5cQ&start_radio=1

I'm so happy! Another surf classic! As always, great tutorial and great track! Keep it up Adrian!

Tony Fletcher

Best tutorials on 60s American surf music—the Brit born in the 90s! Love it.

CC

Fantastic choice and brilliantly taught. Thanks 🤠

Bruce Arthur

Are you in to The Mermen at all?

Tim Foley

Thank you Adrian for again inspiring me to pick up my guitar and give this a whack! You make it so accessible, looking forward to the next!

NB

Great lesson Adrian. A pedal called surfybear deserves some love and opportunity to get in for a splash. Will have a paddle with this tune and then try some others in the set!!!

Adrian, just a follow up. The GP file doesn't match the backing track. There are none of the repeats at the end in the backing track.

Thanks Iain, I will check out what's happening there and fix it if necessary.

Great! Thanks Adrian

I love, love, love that surf music is one of the awesome threads you pull on in your lessons. And I love, love, love, love that this is one of the songs you have explored. Thank you!

Why does this song remind me of "Elevation" by Television?
