Here's the backing track to go along with this week's video. It's a simple, repeated G to F chord progression. Over the G

I'm playing G ideas over the G (mostly chord tones and major pentatonic) and F ideas over the F. (The G mixolydian mode would work well too over both chords.)

Have fun playing along!

I found this really useful. The tip with the octave shapes was key for me.

Hi Adrian, very interesting video, thank you. My youtube feed showed Neil LeVang playing on something called the Lawrence Welk show, he did Ghost Riders...but also a tune called Wheels, which is a cheesy country version of a classical piece I think. I quite like a cheesy, country, classical piece on a tele occasionally, heres a link if you're interested https://youtu.be/Vqu_gjJMF_o keep up the good work, all the best, Joel

Thanks Joel! I actually did a lesson on the Neil Levang Ghost Riders last year. Likewise, it came up in my YouTube feed, I loved it and I decided to learn it. If you search here on on my YT channel you should find it. The tab and backing is on here too. I will check out Wheels too. Cheesy country classical sounds like just my kind of thing! Cheers, Adrian

Thanks Danny! Yes, for me octave shapes are absolutely the key when it comes to using CAGED.

This is such a great lesson, Loved the alternating Hendrx-y/country licks. It was so useful to me that that I pitch shifted your backing track to work in A, C, D, E, G to get comfortable with these patterns all over. I really hope you follow up with similar a "minor" version!
