Just commenting to say I’ve reached Oct 2025 in the podcast! Going through them in order so I miss nothing😬 Keep on keepin’ on!

I listen to this show because I love your hate Will for Bill Maher. The granular nature that you attack his show is incredibly entertaining and Petty. It's interesting getting a comedic perspective on the show. Thank you for losing your mind. Love the long episodes.

Phasian's Workshop

I'd kill to play this video game, even if it was just a half hour XD. What a fantastic and demented idea

Phasian's Workshop

He mentioned Brian Stack who left, but beeped the guy that's still there, who isn't the same guy I assume.

Josh was a great guest host. Suck it, Charles

additionally, i think it’s extremely revealing that Bill views all disabilities as afflictions (????)/diseases. beyond the fact that i only see the word affliction in my collection of second hand textbooks from the 20th century, he’s just going out of his way to further state that health is a perceived marker of character of some form and that it’s not something that should be discussed or acknowledged in public life.

mrg

all the lip smacks and more. thanks Josh

The mention of the film Foxcatcher reminds me of a story I heard about a relative of mine. He was a really good amateur wrestler in the 80s and he was invited wrestle for DuPont. He didn't go because he heard some crazy shit was going on there. Probably the best decision he ever made.

What the fuck is Bill talking about when he lists Sinners and Shape of Water together in his affirmative action rant? for one thing, SoW literally came out 9 YEARS AGO so how the fuck is it relevant? it’s just any movie that has non white people and wins an oscar is bad??

I've noticed Will doesn't introduce himself and in this episode doesn't introduce the guest; he does mention the guest's first name. DL Hughley claims criticism of Maher regarding Maher's use of the N-word brought about Maher's hatred of woke. Hughley says Maher has turned into an old white guy who sounds like Tucker Carlson and that Maher has changed his whole affect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1KDgG4JJos

For me, the appeal of the podcast is hearing a man your age in comedy identify, in specific, what is so wrong about these behaviors.

Will! You to censor the writers name!! It was bound to happen eventually but it caught me off guard.

George Kovats

I picture stacks of leftover People magazines lining the hallways of his mansion that he peruses for material. Anything more current that the Harlem Shake came from a writer.

Ok, I'm now following The Worst of All Possible Worlds and Ill Conceived. How obvious is it that I cannot cope with silence/my own thoughts? Excellent guest and episode! I absolutely hate Bill Maher to the point that I never wanted to subject myself to his "work." Your podcast and critiques are what allow for it to be engaged with, so while I'm not the "I don't hate him but I find this entertaining" demographic, I still find what you do valuable and appreciate it. Though I really am sorry you (understandably) dread it!

Desirae Cicerone

Has he ever said he's "pro Palestine", or has he just said "America First" in terms of Israel getting so much money from the US as it carries out US policy by proxy in the region? Because he has said egregious shit about Palestine's neighboring populations and I can't see his Great Replacement Theory perpetuating ass actually saying anything in defense of Palestinians. He doesn't have genuine anti-war beliefs either, because that also requires being anti-imperialist, something he is decidedly not considering he's all about US empire. i.e., there's no need to say either of these shitbags is better than the other when they're both putrid and have more commonalities than differences.

I'm from Norway and hadn't heard about any synagogue attacks happening here lately, so i had to check what Bill was talking about. There was two incidents he might have been talking about. The first was a former convicted guy and another person being arrested for possession of weapons in the area of a synagogue in Oslo. The police has said that the arrest had no connection with the synagogue. The other incident was a car chase that started near a synagogue in Trondheim. The police also stated here that the incident had nothing to do with the synagogue.

Pettiness is next to Godliness. Thank you, Will!

Bill Maher isn’t cheap, I used to work valet at the Monderian/Sky Bar and he’d tip $50 for opening his door and he used a car service.

Aaron

I hate the “you can make something like that these days” argument. Of course you can’t make a movie made in 1995 again! It will never be that time again

Well that's why I said anti some wars. I think the way he frames himself is he's pro-all people and human rights. I agree with the criticisms, but his criticisms of Israel even if blaming Israel and not the US enough, are important. He is also hosted many pro Palestine people and people are critical of Israel and certain wars on his show. For whatever the criticism, I think you'd agree he's done more that's positive than BM. For example: Tucker talks about the bombing of churches in Gaza and the harassment (spitting on them) of Christians in Jerusalem. He and his crew also visited a medical ward of Palestinians evacuated from Gaza in Qatar. The way he talks about them is almost completely absent from American news. It was very moving. He is humanizing Palestinians and that is really important. BM does the exact opposite.

I agree with Will's wife. Sunset Boulevard and All About Eve were both great. Sunset is my preference, but they are very different films. Bette Davis was great in Eve.
