Let's get into Noah Kahan's latest album "The Great Divide"! I made it through track 8 and was already at 1 hour and 40 mins recording time. This album is HEAVY. Filled with substance, but the jam is still there. I made sure to watch the music video for "The Great Divide" right after the song played. I'm splitting this up into 2 parts because I ran out of time and had to go take care of my lovely Grandpa. I'll get into Part 2 on Monday (4/27/26) and I'll include the 4 new songs that he dropped last night (4/24/26). Please help me break down these tracks the best you can and let me know your favorites.

He's managed to tug the heart strings again. How he manages to resonate with people in his music every damn time astounds me. What I've taken from this album, and from having watched his documentary, I feel like he's talking about the two versions of himself, the guy thats still in vermont and this new version with fame and success that he doesn't quite understand, along with maybe relationships that have been left in the past that he's never had closure from. I love how he's sort of started this album as a continuation off from stick season, with end of august and talks about the ice and reflectors. Stick season is what really launched him into his career so he's started his newest album going into a new season maybe metaphorically, he's no longer feeling 'stuck' like he did in his previous album, but now he's contemplative and struggling with who he is. You should definitely check out the documentary he put before the album, it really puts his mental space into perspective and gives better context to the album!

The doc puts so much of this album into perspective. You really get to see the dynamic of his family and Noah is very transparent in his mental space over the making of this album. There are a lot of songs that I think are probably about his relationship over the years with his siblings and his parents. I’m so glad he was able to make this album even after he wasn’t sure that he would be able to.

As someone who was destroyed by this album, seeing I wasn't the only one who resonated with so many songs like The Great Divide, Willing and Able, 23, etc., honesty made me feel like I wasn't alone for the first time in a long time. I think that’s why Noah’s music is so important, it shows you how many people share the same struggles and creates a place where real conversations of substance can take place. That being said, good luck with part two. p.s have tissues ready

It’s never easy to be everyone else’s person but not having one of your own. That big heart can feel like a curse sometimes, The Great Divide has had a few different meanings for me personally. I’ve also been the person Noah is singing about, The part “And not your soul and what He might do with it” hit me hard coming from an abusive relationship where you feel as if a “he” has destroyed my soul in a way, I’m scared of normal things now and not what he will do to me. It’s so interesting how songs can mean different things to different people. Loved your reactions on this one!

You're so open and vulnerable Danny, its genuinely admirable. I love how much you open up and relate the songs to yourself, share your experiences, advice and opinions💙 A lady, you say?👀 I hope she makes you feel like the absolute best person in the world, since you are🫶🏻 Can't wait for part 2🙂

I took American Car as the sister who lives far away is always the one that’s able to fix things with the family when things get difficult and she always shows up when needed

I think this album hits different when you think of it as what people are saying to him in some songs like " American cars" " downfall" and " dashboard"

Just finished watching part 1 and will probably get to part 2 tomorrow. But Danny, I hope you know what a gift you are! Thank you for being so open & vulnerable with us. 🫶

The Sam Fender vibes are insane, especially in American Cars (I think it’s the guitar)- I adore it! Noah did amazing with this album, I hope I get to see him live at some point 💕

Sometimes it’s difficult to interpret Noah’s lyrics because he writes from multiple different perspectives. He is so good at capturing and understanding other people’s points of view that it feels like he’s writing about his own feelings. Like Porch Light is written from the perspective of his mother (in my opinion) talking to him but it takes awhile sometimes to figure it out.

I have put this off because mentally I have not been in a good place but I had to see this reaction. Great job Danny.
