Seeing the solos being played from all the different angles makes for such an intimate experience! I also can't believe that I got another opportunity to hear an instrumental of another song!

This was great! While the music is great, seeing their different personalities come through is worth the price of admission.

First of all, hello Boston! NittPicc, don't worry about boring us. First of all, it's Band Maid and I can never get enough of these ladies. Secondly, you are always very entertaining. DrumRoll Tony was right in talking you into doing this, you're a natural and we love and appreciate you so much.

You are never boring, NITPIC! Always love your enthusiasm!

Wayne B

These ladies exhibit effortless mastery, as Drumroll Tory says!

Akane is such a delight to watch, having so much fun doing her part!

Juan San

I remember in an interview that MISA advised anyone who wanted to start playing bass in Band Maid music to do so with this song (I guess that without the extended solo).

I think one of the best apocryphal quotes attributed to Sir Winston Churchill is "the best improvisation is the one carefully prepared."

Is it just me or is Miku's bow lit up? Just her moving in the light, but I think it's really cool to watch!

Did you notice the how casually and calmly MISA, Kanami, and Akane practiced the song. They are true professionals!

Jonas S

And here I haven't practiced bass... at all! I'm a really really horrible person! ;-D

Akane's self-covers are so funny (as of course is she). My favourite one is the Akane GoPro cover of Honkai, but in that one it's because of Miku (you'll see). I could never bend the strings as far as Kanami on my cheap Epiphone electric. I notice she usually uses two fingers on the same string when doing the farthest bends. I used thin picks for years, but I find that the ones that are thin at the bottom but thick at the top, with raised ridges to help with the grip are the best for me.

If you look over Misa's left shoulder over the EVH on her pull angle closeups, it looks like Akane's playing too.Lotsa online advice about tremolo picking -- some probably fairly dubious but you'd learn a lot. I've never seen another bass player do tremolo picking and the idea kinda freaks me out. Electric strings are (with exceptions like SRV) usually so thin that they are easier to bend pitch (though I think Misa's done so on bass -- geez).

Yep, Akane plays powerfully and is pure joy to watch, but what I really appreciate her for is the creativity and support she brings to every song or special sections, while others may be more in the spotlight. Pretty much every solo by Kanami and/or Misa would not even feel close the same for me without what Akane contributes to them. That's why she's a little magician to me.
