I did some research on why this band's name is called "Bray me." Get a load of this:

They were originally called "BRAVE JACKASS" in their previous project and later changed their band name to "meme." Later the name became the portmanteau "Bray me" of both projects. Pretty cool, huh? I also find it kind of funny that a donkey, also known as a jackass, makes a braying sound.

Cute!

Thank you for taking the time to check them. I was going to write about their name but seems you figured it out by yourself. Now let me reassure you that they are still active with an upcoming album to be released on January 7th and I will see them in Tokyo on March 25th. I had to extend my trip because of them I originaly planned to arrive on the 27th but they announced their tour and everytime I go to Japan going to a Bray me show is mandatory. I like your interpretation of the lyrics it is not far from mine as I think Marley is her young self and she is remembering those days hoping for Marley (aka youth innocence, feelings, hopefullness, etc...) to still be with her as she grows up and not lose this part of herself. I didn't talk about that in my request but all lyrics are written by Kotani and in my opinion that is why her voice feels so connected to the words because they are actually hers. That is one of the reasons why she became my favorite singer she has a way to convey the emotions of a song like no one else and I was fortunate enough to say it directly to her last year. For my next request I could stay on the same track with emotional track showcasing Kotani's voice but I think it will be a more rocky one because yes they are a rock band after all.

They are still active and are releasing an album on Wednesday of the week this is posted. For the longest time they were underground and indie and Instagram oddly enough is a pretty cost effective way for bands to get their music to new audiences. The YouTube algorithm is free and does work, it's how I found Bray me, but not everyone uses YouTube for discovering new music so an IG ad will get new eyes on your music there. They did launch their label, Nott Daggr, last year and that has allowed them to get plugged into the Japanese music scene's promotional engine more. They're still not super popular but they can actually live off of their earnings now so as long as they want to continue they can.
