I still cannot believe that the music reaction I did for this anime was a song that I have been looking for FOR YEARS!

...the anime it's attached to though is...interesting.

I get that being young comes with some strong feelings, but these are some real STRONG feelings, if you get what I mean.

You being "What the hell is happening ?" is normal. You being "is there some sexual inuendo ?" is normal. Both are valid and the goal of the show, FLCL is chaos, just like teenager's feeling are, we make big deal of something that aren't and think the extraordinary is normal and boring. There is a lot of thing hidden in the it, it may look like a weird, chaotic and unhinged show on the surface, but there is meaning behind some elements, you already connected some. I won't say much about what the message is, because from show like that, it's better to make your own conclusion, it's the definition of art after all and FLCL is definetly "anime used as a medium". FLCL is a crucial point in anime history in my opinion, just like Grendizer was the first mecha anime were a man hop in it to pilot, there is a before and after this show. I need to make the emphase about the fact that this show is 26 years old this years, the same year as Yu-Gi-Ho, Inu Yasha, Hamtaro or the second season of Digimon, I know it's only 6 episode so they could have used the money of a 12 or 24 episodes show into just these 6, so that would explain why the animation is still crisp and amazing, but yeah, the animation is still crisp and amazing, there is a lot of modern anime that don't look as good as FLCL and that do no use camera work like the scene on the bridge, manga panel, realistic or cartoonish animation, like this show does. I may sound like I glaze the show, but I'm not the only one that feel that way, if they made two new "season" of FLCL in 2018, that because people still talked about it ^^. Now about the episode, just some point to notice, since the show talk about growing up and adulthood, we have here a main character very childish from the get go, it's is show in various way, but the main one could be Minami offering him halk of her can, at first he slam it on the floor, because it would be an indirect kiss (classic anime trope here), but since Haruko did kiss him with the CPR, he finally take the drink at the end, but the fact that he don't like it because it sour, still show that he is a kid. So yeah, in the end, you might feel a little weird out and don't know what is happening for the rest of the show at some point, but just enjoy it and draw your own thought about it.

Side note this is one of the better dubs out there if you feel like watching in English instead, it’s very faithful to the Japanese version. Also probably one of my top 3 of all time anime.
