Not knowing what your next step in life can be scary. I've been there many times in my educational journey.

Everyone other than Kano know what they are wanting to do after high school.

Kiui wants to teach middle school so she can help those that are like her understand that it is okay to be who they are.

Mahiru and Mei are going to continue their journey in the arts.

Kano has to remember that she has a journey and she will find her ultimate goal.

I love the way these girls give each other a pat on the head with affection or give each other a karate chop on the head when they need it.

In Japan, first year drivers need to stickers on the back of their vehicle signaling to other drivers that they are first year drivers. After a year, they can remove it.

Koharu is a slightly problematic character in how she's written; mostly because she could've probably used a longer runway to gradually explore what makes her tick and give the character more nuance than just the older woman with a slightly extreme approach to plastic surgery/body augmentation and an interest in Kiui (which might be mutual, given she doesn't ignore her or try to scare her off). From this episode we know she can hold her own discussing games & nerd culture, which somewhat contradicts her glamorous aesthetic and in the bathhouse scene also see what looks like a large tattoo on her back that's been mostly removed through laser treatment (until quite recently only yakuza & maybe established rockstars would have tattoos in Japan, with the style of the two quite different, this looks more like the former). She's kind of a mystery and had enough work done that we have no real idea as to her original appearance or ability to accurately judge her likely age (other than knowing she's older than the members of JELEE who are all 16-17). At this stage in the story I think perhaps she acts as a mirror of sorts towards Kiui's own body dismorphia. Kano noticed that Kiui is actually curvier than her, yet she always seems to try and hide her figure with baggy clothing and usually dresses more like a tomboy. I can't get into more details without risking spoiler territory, but it does get explored more in future episodes, albeit maybe not quite as much as it should've been in an ideal world.

Also regarding the sequence at the end, when they get pulled over for riding with a passenger as newly qualified and Kano gets demerit points on her license. It might've been because of one of my favourite anime Supercub a couple of years prior; which had a similar sequence in one episode and was a bit of a public outcry due to the unpunished law breaking in terms of what was shown (though it was covered by the author in both the light novel and the manga).
