I am glad that Kanade was okay. It was frightening to see what happened to her at the end of the last episode.

Otonashi's story was absolutely devastating. He did all he could to save any survivors on that train, only to find that there was no way out of that tunnel. I assume he died of internal injuries and going a week without enough food and water took a toll on him.

Him remembering his life should've obliterated him, but Kanade explains to him that his job isn't over because she needs his help. I understand now that Kanade is there to help these young members of this "purgatory" that it's okay to move on. It's time to let go of the "unfair."
