All I'm gonna say is that I will NEVER recover from this show.

This episode, BROKE me.

10/10 would do it again.

I couldn't leave a comment on the last episode because I felt like anything I said would have been too much It's in this final episode that the name of the show "Angel Beats" really shows it's true meaning. Angel Beats has sat in the top 3 of my personal list for around 15 years at this point, and I don't think it's going anywhere. The show just had that big of an impact on me. As you said, the combination of comedy, action, drama, emotion (and also music) is something that Angel Beats does flawlessly. I've seen a handful of other anime that touch upon the same themes in various quantities, but I feel like Angel Beats really has the perfect mix.

Agreed 100%! This anime absolutely exceed any expectations, which I went in with none, but I remember back to the first episode where I felt lost and unsure about this whole show. I have been “screaming” to friends that if they need an anime to watch that this one needs to go on their list. I’m so sad that it’s over…but now I can watch it again. Not gonna lie, I cried AGAIN when I edited it. 💀💀💀 Such a well-rounded anime.

I was one of the ones who suggested this anime to you for the music and great story (I know others did), but it does try to break your heart throughout the series which was why I waited to suggest it until you had some other , more light-hearted ones under your belt. It seems really light-hearted and adventurous at the start but then the stories of why the characters are there and the emotion starts to hit hard. I, like Ash, wanted to post something after last epsiode, like "Make sure you watch through the credits", but did not want to spoil anything for you. I got real emotional the first time that I watched it and still get emotional watching this episode. It sits borderline top five for me (you are watching one ahead of it right now, Frieren, and you will be watching my #1 anime soon in Violet Evergarden). It does have a great blend of comedy, adventure/action but such heartfelt emotion. I am glad that you enjoyed it and see you on another reaction!

I agree the final episode was so well done, and I did have a few tears too (although not your meltdown 😂🤗) - I think Sound Euphonium still tops this for me for the greater depth and slow character development, but for a single series with action and emotional impact this must be hard to beat. Definitely my favourite of the current set you've been watching, although there's a few of the newer ones that I need to catch up on.
